Deezer: Stop making me listen to chart / 'over-commercialised' bubblegum. I'm PAYING for this service

Here's can idea: How about Deezer stop making me listen to stuff I don't want to listen to when I'm paying you.

I'm sorry but Deezer is clearly trying to sway me into listening to music which is clearly mainstream pop. I don't know if these so-called mainstream artists get royalties each time they're listened to on a streaming site, but regardless that's not my problem. I'm paying Deezer every month ad I want my music suggestions to be based on my interests

(And yes, I am constantly clicking the "like" / "dislike" icons so that the Deezer algorithm can presumably create suggestions based on my actual interests)

Hi there @Harry's Bread

Apologies to the poor experience you've had. Just so that we can pass on your feedback effectively, could you please let me know in which part of the app you're getting undesired recommendations?

I’m experiencing the same issue. It appears in browser version, when I close all tabs with deezer and open deezer after some time, in “Now playing” there are 50 songs of chart of my country (Russia).

Deezer needs personalised home page.

This is now way too commercial. Too much pop starts I didn’t care and never will.

I am not against mainstream music, something for everyone, but I listen for HOURS a day and is best Deezer can do? Show 95% mainstream trap in my home page with Eminem rap and Dua Lipa?

Thanks a lot for the feedback @Stunner @hpguru

We're working on this.

In the meantime, @Stunner open your queue on browser or desktop app and scroll to the bottom. Make sure 'automated recommendations' is toggled off

I had a similar problem with the automatic daily playlists.

my recommendation is this: Sort out your favorites. Delete everything that is slightly commercial music and just bookmark rare music with a low “fans” count. Everything above 10k fans is in fact commercial music.

Check out the artist page if there is a “similar artist” menu. If the artist does not have this menu than the system does not have enough data to recommend you anything related and will just fallback to anything commercial. Especially if you enable the queue option “automatic recommendations” this will happen.

I listen often so unpopular music, they do not have a radio channel for it.

No suggested artists. In this situation avoid to play radio. It will play commercial stuff.

Deezer trackmixes work the same way, and artist mixes too, if not enough data.
