Critical Feedback around the Bose SoundTouch App


Hello,

Bose SoundTouch features Deezer as a listening service, but the ergonomy of the dedicated interface is really poor (to put it mildly):

no search function, albums / tracks / playlists features in a random order with NO (!) sorting options...
I contacted Bose to request that they work on it and provide an interface with the minimally acceptable features, but to no avail.

Can Deezer, on your end, please do something?

Yes, I had contacted Bose. As a ‘product’, and not a ‘service’ company, they gave me a lousy answer, as--sorry--did you.

Frankly, it is not up to me, a client of both Deezer and Bose, to make sure that your 2 companies get your act together and provide an acceptable and seamless experience.

COULD YOU PLEASE GET IN TOUCH INTERNALLY AT DEEZER WITH THE RELEVANT PEOPLE THAT CAN DISCUSS WITH BOSE AND FIX THE BOSE SOUNDTOUCH APP?

that would be appreciated

one workaround i discovered for the inspired by flow playlists is that at least deezer app lets you save them as a separate playlist. call it something like inspired by flow 5-30 rock play list. then you can find it in my library in the bose app. you have to go  into your libary and scroll to the bottom to find favorite play lists to see it. then you could delete it in Deezer app once you've listened to all the songs if needed and repeat the next time you want to listen to one. i know its a hassle but at least you get access to your inspired by flow this way. sorry for your struggle.

@Rudi I hae been chasing both Deezer and Bose but it seems to not be a priority - the Deezer app on my mobile is impressive and I just want those features in the Bose soundtouch but there is a disconnect.  I originally bought my Bose speaker and subscribed to Deezer as t was ‘sponsored’ with my purchase so I thought there would be a stronger alignment on updates but I think the Bose version of Deezer is probably unchanged in 3 years whereas the mobile app has advanced significantly.  It would be great if you could help…..

We'd love to, but the app is theirs - our API can be improved if Bose decides to work on it. We can certainly provide all the help they need to make a better integration with their product. Have you reached to Bose about this? :v_tone2:

@gdr i agree the Bose Music app for Deezer is terrible. the inspired by flow is really a playlist so it should be there like it is with spotify daily mix playlists. in spotify you can like the playlist so its in your favorites and then find it in the bose music app in your music if needed. also the recommendations are pretty bad and i dont think they have any relations to the recommendations on the actual deezer app. i tested this a few times by writing down all the albums that are recommended in a few genres like rock, rap/hip hop, blues. then i checked back a few weeks later and its mostly all the same barely any new ones. i think its something on their side though because other services its okay. actually i like bose music app interface with amazon music better than the actual amazon music app. spotify its serviceable but you can always just spotify connect and just use their app if you want. pandora is bad too because it only lets you play stations on bose music app, even if you have premium you cant see playlists or anything besides stations. also iheart radio doesnt allow podcasts on bose music app. this is bad because iheart radio advertise they are number one for podcasts and if you use their app independently it works great. but in bose music it doesnt let you listen to podcast with the app. so overall i think the issue is more on bose than deezer. but deezer could benefit from a better bose music app on their service.

@stevenomes  I agree with this cheat and have done similar but as per @mebernard  it seems reasonable that Bose and Deezer collaborate to make this issue better.  I started with Deezer as it came with my Bose purchase so inferred a better cooperation than has been evident in 2 years of chasing here and on the Bose forum similarly…..

I'll be passing the feedback to our teams but as it's Bose app's and our API, it'd be quicker if Bose asked our developers for improvements directly :thumbsup_tone2:

Thanks @Rudi  and I’ll try to chase Bose but can’t you make the connection as well rather than wait for Bose to call?  Communication is a two way street and I don’t care who starts it, just looking for a fix from the two companies collaboratively.

Sure, you're absolutely right @gdr, obviously, we pass this to our devs who then try to reach Bose. I was suggesting you to contact them directly about this too, in the meantime :thumbsup_tone2:

However, please note that, as mentioned earlier in this thread I, and, apparently, many other users have indeed tried to contact Bose, but to no avail--they are sending us back to Deezer.

PLEASE MAKE THIS HAPPEN!!

I have tried everything I can think of to connect Deezer (premium) to Bose Wave Sound Touch.  Nothing seems to work.  Some years ago I had Deezer onn Bose with no major problems.  Deezer seems to have me on Deezer Hi-fi and Deezer Premium.  I signed up for Deezer Premium, why did this happen?

I cannot login to connect Deezer to Bose Wave Sound Touch.  Why all these problems?  I have also contacted Bose and get responses that this is a Deezer problem, etc.

I’ve done all I know to do.  I have not deleted my account and reentered all the ifo, I am afraid I’ll really mess it all up.

Let's see if we can help you with this. Are you trying to access Deezer via the Bose app? Or are you trying to cast directly from the mobile app?

If you could explain in a bit more detail (the steps you take until the problem happens), I'll try my best to sort this out for you :thumbsup_tone2:

Yes I  was going thru the Bose App.   I’m not even running Deezer now, I am waiting for the problem to be resolved.  I have forgotten some of the steps I tried to use to get Deezer to my Bose Wave IV soundtouh receiver.  Mufta has tried to help, but I can’t get the signed i for Deezer on the Soundtouch, they keep saying I don’t have all the details in and I have no earthly idea of what they are  talking about, won’y let me sign in thru GB, Google.  Keeps denying letting me add Deezer to Soundtouch.  I have tried numerous things and none work for me.  But, I could also  be doing this incorrectly.  I hope I can be of more help in the future.  I get Deezer to my PC bfut not to Soundtouch.

Actually Mufta at Deezer took care of changing email.  I’m having a problem with changing the pasdsword, I don’t r

 

emembe the password from IThe email address has been changed.  Boze or Deezer won’t let me change the password from 2014.  Now when I try to sign in with a new password, they tell me I don’t have alll the details.  I don’t know what they mean.
