Adapt Deezer audio quality to network quality/signal

We all know that some areas don't have a great network coverage, especially the areas around borders and few populated areas. Right now you can choose in the settings in what audio quality you want to stream/download through wifi/mobile data.

I think it would be a good option in the settings to adapt the audio quality to the network quality, so you have a better chance to stream tracks more fluid and quicker. This option would be great for people in Europe crossing boarders many times (like me :D) or people traveling a lot and crossing less qualitative network areas.

This could be an option to choose in the settings, so not necessarily a permanent feature :)

What do you guys think?

Hello @Martijn.Keymis, you already have options in Audio settings to adjust the quality according to the quality of the network (Balanced: Improve audio quality when connected to WiFi) and you can even customize it. I guess you would want something even more advanced? The other option is to download your tracks to be able to listen to them offline.

I am Online streamer.

In Finland we have 4G almost everywhere, even in woods in the middle of nowhere for real… so it is really a waste of time to download songs and all 4G plans are unlimited. They don’t sell 3G plans anymore and 3G is unlimited as well. I pay €6,90 a month (after 50 percent off when paid one year in advance) and I have UNLIMITED 4g 1M/1M in Scandinavia, 7 Gb in EU a month.

Deezer streams in Finland, in Estonia, in Denmark forced to 320K…

This is is a joke. Ridiculously cheap plan, also saving on Deezer with annual subscription.

This is how I travel free once a year, I save on my bills by removing excess euros from them. You either find better deals on their sites, call them or change provided in almost anything really.

What you are saving on bills, you put to your savings and travel at the end of the year.

I don’t think you can’t do the quality, you could also prefer HQ on wifi only, which I think, is something you want. In many countries 4G is bad, especially in Germany, where in 2016 I enjoyed my first hard dance party in local clubs. It was an awesome festival, TechnoBase.fm and second time Easter Rave. Offline is good if you do not want to pay for 4G, but I need it.

I understand how much you need network based streaming, but it’s here.

He means to change settings automatically instead of manually according to the connection speed.

Thanks a lot for the suggestion @Martijn.Keymis

At the moment, if you're buffering for some time under a high-quality setting, the Deezer app will suggest you to change this in settings - giving the user the option to choose if they want to sacrifice bandwidth in exchange of better sound quality :thumbsup_tone2:
