360 by Deezer is a new app dedicated to our Deezer HiFi subscribers.

Deezer HiFi users now have the ability to hear the very first songs recorded in 360 Reality Audio by Sony.

What's the technology behind it?

360 Reality Audio maximizes the spatial sound field by creating multiple virtual speakers and converting instruments into independent objects that can be placed in different positions to create a truly immersive experience for listeners.

What are the requirements?

  • iOS version 11 and higher and Android version Lollipop and above

  • Deezer HiFi subscription

  • 360 Reality Audio can be enjoyed with most headphones and is optimized for Sony's range of headsets

  • To learn more about 360 Reality Audio visit Sony's website

For more info about getting the app and headphones working to their fullest, please see our support article here.

Now get on trying it out and tell us more about your experience. What are the most noticeable differences? What would you like to see?

Hi @Prostoy.Paren

I saw a headline about this yesterday - I don’t think it’s been launched yet… (but I might be wrong!)

We're testing this @Prostoy.Paren @Rob Igo

Rob is right, not launched yet

I have just download this, and seems to work ok. I have a pair of Sony 1000 mx2, and have tried to optimise for them, but not clear what I need to do, as nothing seems to have changed, any help appreciated

Hey @Redster

The app has been launched, yes :relaxed:

You need a pair of Sony's 360 headphones to enjoy 360 audio to its full potential, but even with normal headphones is possible to enjoy the difference. In some tracks, it's true, the difference is more noticeable.

See this support article:

You have to be a HiFi subscriber to use the new “360 by Deezer” app which provides the available tracks in that format.

someone? something?

360 by Deezer is only available as a mobile app for Android and iOS, furthermore you need a HiFi account as well.

I have Hifi account. in Fiio M6 i have  installed Deezer

But 360 Reality Audio is only available on its own app, 360 by Deezer. Just as @bluezzbastardzz said, @Artur Biziewski :thumbsup_tone2:

Would have loved to try this after purchasing Sony WF-1000xm3 headphones but after 3 fruitless hours of attempting to create, install, delete, reinstall, delete again, reinstall again and generally troubleshoot, could not login despite having a Deezer account and subscription.
Generally a highly frustrating experience with a terrible interface and ability to troubleshoot.

Hi @Natjac sorry to hear about all these complications. You have a Deezer Premium account. Please bear in mind that 360 by Deezer is only available for Deezer Hifi users.

If you would like to change, please cancel your current Premium subscription via the iTunes Store. Here is explained how: How do I cancel my subscription via the iTunes Store (Apple)?

Hi Pia.Deezer,

Thanks the reply. I realize I had the be a HIFI account subscriber, however I have tried canceling my Premium subscription using the method you outlined above but without success.  I can see the option for me to change my subscription (on my deezer account page) from premium to Hifi but that option is ‘greyed out’ for me and I cannot access it.

There really is no simple way to successfully alter my subscription.

Most other subscription services I access are far more user friendly.

As I previously mentioned I would love to try the technology but I am being thwarted by something as mundane as account keeping bugs.

Cheers.

Hi @Natjac we are sorry about that. A subscription directly with us can be cancelled and changed easily but you subscribed via the iTunes Store (Apple). You need to cancel your Deezer Premium subscription, wait for it to expire and then subscribe to Deezer Hifi. For security reasons Apple (iTunes) doesn’t allow us access to your iTunes account, so it can’t be cancelled from our end.

Please follow these steps to cancel your Premium subscription on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch:

  • Go to your general phone Settings > iTunes & App Store
  • Tap your Apple ID at the top of the screen
  • Tap View Apple ID. You might need to sign in or use Touch ID
  • Tap Subscriptions
  • Tap the Deezer subscription
  • If you don't see a subscription but are still being charged, make sure that you're signed in with the correct Apple ID
  • Click on Cancel

Once you cancel, your Premium subscription will stop at the end of the current billing cycle. Please let me know the date and I can help you further with this matter. Thank you

Hi Pia.Deezer,

Thanks for response. I have cancelled my premium account through the method that you have recommended and the billing cycle stops in 3 months, at the end of the trial for premium.  So in order for you to help me on this account I must wait three months to be able to subscribe to deezer Hifi.

In an effort to circumvent this painful wait I have uninstalled bother deezer and 360 by deezer, reinstalled them and created a new account with a new email address.

I have emailed Sony for a code to use for a 3 month trial that was advertised when I bought my Sony earbuds. However it is not clear on where or how to use that code to enable my subscription.

Given that I clearly made an error in subscribing to deezer premium through iTunes (who would have thought!), I am loath to start any more subscription activation process without a little more guidance.

How do I subscribe to deezer Hifi using a code sent to me by Sony?

Hi there

I have a Deezer 360 app on my iPhone, can you advise if it will work on my iMac & if so where I get it from please?

Thanks

Steve

360 by Deezer is only available for mobile devices at the moment, i.e. iOS and Android, probably because you need suitable headphones to listen to this spatial audio format properly.

I don’t know if there are plans to release a desktop version or others e.g. for Xbox, as those devices also have a headphone output jack most of the time. Also note that there are not many available tracks in that format yet.

Hi there @Natjac

Thanks for coming back and sharing your experience with us. Don't forget to get the account with the Premium subscription in use. It would be a waste

About HiFi with the code, please visit our support article here and scroll down to the bottom for instructions on activation :thumbsup_tone2: let us know if you need any help!

I now have a 3 month free membership but no 360 sound....help🙂

Hello @Daniel Zatman thank you for contacting us. You successfully activated Deezer Premium on your account. Please bear in mind that you need a Deezer Hifi subscription in order to use 360 by Deezer. Please read this topic for further information.

Before changing your subscription, please contact SONY Israel and make sure you have everything else you need in order to enjoy 360 by Deezer and SONY. Many thanks

Dear Rudi, thanks for posting this topic.

I am a subscriber to Deezer HiFi and really interested on trying 360 feature.

But unfortunately, the 360 app is not available in my country.

Note: I am using iOS devices, my region is Japan, and I'm using one of the compatible Sony headphones.

Could you help with this?

360 feature is my reason to try Deezer HiFi and will decide to continue or not.

Waiting for your response and solutions for the app.

Best regards.

360 is a nice feature, but the catalog is super limited. I imagine it's not just down to Deezer to have that expanded - more material needs to be available in 360 format. However, at the moment it is more of a nice tech demo than something I'd actually use, as none of the music I listen to often is available there… :shrug_tone1:

Any idea of whether the catalog will expand substantially? I'm happy with HiFi but honestly wondering whether I should just delete the 360 app and enjoy the regular app.

I love 360, but I agree that the catalogue should be increased! We passed this feedback already, but we don't have an estimated time for it...

I don’t know how much influence Deezer has on Sony in improving their 360RA catalogue, but as I mentioned in other threads the British label Nimbus Records uses the spatial audio format Ambisonic in almost all of their releases which is very similar to 360 Real Audio and/or MPEG-H Audio, so it probably would not take much to convert their complete catalogue which is mostly classical music, but also world music. You can find their releases on Deezer with the label search (label:’nimbus records’). See also these infos from the Fraunhofer Institut about the MPEG-H Audio standard:

https://www.iis.fraunhofer.de/en/ff/amm/broadcast-streaming/mpegh.html

deezer 360 does not contains any tracks, only names of albums
