Good morning, good people

I have downloaded a few playlists and albums, as well as a few favourite songs which appears under Favourite Tracks.

How do I get Deezer to shuffle ALL the music? A random song from all the playlists, albums and favourites?

Hi @Stephan Maritz

the link for the android beta is here:-
https://plus.google.com/u/0/communities/107487501362420680631

Please note though it allows you to shuffle downloads only (not your entire library) as far as I'm aware (but might be worth checking out).

If you go on your profile there is a section called 'FLOW' this is all your music shuffled

Ok, Flow is what I use when I play music at home on my media player online. Tested it now in offline mode on my mobile, it seems to work, but plays a lot of music from the same artist. I guess that's the way it learned what I listened to?

Anyway, thanks for the feedback!!

Yes, deezer does learn what you normally listen to and plays those songs more frequent, it is a pleasure.

Hi @Stephan Maritz, it's not possible to shuffle you whole library at the moment. On Iphone and with the Android Beta app, you can shuffle all downloads though 😉

Hi, @Anja what is ;FLOW; then?

How can I get the Beta version? I would really have loved the ability to shuffle ALL my songs.

HI @Jessy

flow is favourites and suggestions that you might like! (not your library which is also albums and playlists).

I hope that makes sense! 🙂

It makes sense, it also 'predicts' what it thinks I''d like to hear from my offline collection. Although I love that feature, I would also like a feature to completely randomize all the songs.

Seriously, do I have to open a Google+ account to join Beta? 🙄

@Stephan Maritz, yes you have to be part of the Google+ Community to get the Android Beta app. Hope that helps 🙂

Thanks for everyojne's response! :)

It is strange that Deezer does not have a simple shuffle-all-media option, maybe it's in the pipeline.

These sorts of apps behave in strange ways. Even when removing an album, it still plays songs from that album.

ANyway, overall a great experience! 😃
Ive done that now. Itll shuffle albums but not my playlist. It worked fine when i had an iphone but not now ive got an S8

Yeah, I'm on the verge of ditching Deezer. It seems that this most basic and simple functionality is not in the pipeline. Randomly select a song from all downloaded music. I won't be told that people don't really want that.

I stumbled onto a Tweet from 2014, where people were asking about this, and from then on, "it's in the pipeline, please just bear with us."

I completely understand your feedback! I'd suggest you create feedback topic in our ideas forum so that other users can see it an vote for it. The more votes an idea gets, the better the devs can see how "urgent" it is 🙂

For real? You're treating this topic as a request that has never before been raised? 😂 🤔

@Stephan Maritz, I'm not, but the community and especially the ideas forum gives users a chance to exchange feedback and also vote for those ideas so that our devs can see how many users need/want this! Meaning a forum shows actual numbers and discussions about this. Hope that answers you question 🙂

No it does not really even address the problem.

Simply put, Deezer is not able to shuffle your whole music collection the way PowerAmp does, even after this functionality has been requested since at least 2014.

When Spotify (pardon the swear word) launches in ZA, I'll give that a shot, and if it can do that, I'll cancel my Deezer subscription.

Anja, regarding the desperately urgent requirement for shuffling playlists: I agree, it's urgent! I'm currently on a free-month trial of Deezer HiFi specifically because of the LOSSLESS subscription option (I've been using Rhapsody/Napster for something like 15 years and Napster does not provide lossless) and I agree completely with Stephan Maritz's concern over the absence of a playlist shuffle function - it's a MUST HAVE. Meanwhile, when you suggest starting a "feedback topic in the ideas forum" can you explain exactly how to do this? Stephan, have you set one up? Thanks.

Hi, no I do not, this is not the first time someone has requested this. I mean really, why put something up for vote to MAYBE get the dev's attention, when it's been requested many many times in the past few years? Shuffling all music is probably the first and most important feature of a music player, yet here we are.

EDIT: I really love Deezer, and the interface. I prefer to have my music legally, and in the best quality possible, as opposed to possible dodgy quality MP3 downloads from the Internet, but if this is not going to be resolved, I might have to go back to PowerAmp and downloaded albums until Spotify releases in ZA.

Right on, Stephan, I agree with everything you said. That is, I feel the pain. Artists getting properly paid is of upmost importance to me (I complained bitterly when Rhapsody was consumed by Napster, the biggest rip-off scandal-makers in the business). MP3 vs. lossless/FLAC? No question. I'd head over to TIDAL if it weren't for, well, this is no place for discussions that might be misinterpreted. It's all about the music. Nonetheless, I did post this topic in the "Got an Idea?" section, just to do it. In desperation. You know, before I'm forced to cancel my HiFi subscription after the trial. It's too bad. One wonders whether the so-called "devs" actually use the service themselves, otherwise, how is this industry-standard stuff not benchmarked from the beginning? I rant, sorry. Thanks.

So I've noticed that Flow works pretty well shuffling all songs, but when Deezer is not in offline mode. SO when I'm not connected to wifi, and I'm driving in my car playing music, will it only play from the albums/playlists that I have downloaded, or will it still stream music using my mobile connection?
Userlevel 7

HI @Stephan Maritz

it depends on how you have your Deezer App set. There is an offline mode which will stop Deezer streaming whether you're on wifi or mobile 3g/4g connection etc (this will then only play music downloaded or in the smart cache) :)

I hope this helps! Let us know if you need more help! 🙂

Not a particularly helpful answer, but thanks.

What I was asking, when Deezer is NOT in offline mode, will it still only play songs that are actually downloaded, or will it stream from the Internet as well?

The reason I am asking is that in Offline mode, Deezer is simply unable to shuffle at all.
