Why are the ads so loud?

Userlevel 1
Hi, i'm using deezer free version, and listening to the music at a low volume.

Why the voice telling me to sign for the premium account has to be at MAXIMUM VOLUME ???

I'm scared everytime.

IT'S REALLY, REALLY UNFAIR:

I'm Not happy as a customer.

Hi @romain145 the problem is unfortunately that the ads come from a different system than our music. In order to prevent this just turn the volume in the app all up and use the system volume in your computer to change the volume. This should help 😉

ok thanks to all.
They answered me directly telling me it's a bug, to be fixed soon.

Thanks again.

I am using the free Deezer for about quite some time now. I don't mind listening to the Ads before since it usually recommends good music to listen to. But what I notice in this past few weeks/months is that the Ads are too loud and it gets annoying especially for those using earphones/headphones. so instead of listening through the Ads that I usually do, I take off my headphones and wait for the Ads to stop, which defeats the purpose of the Ads itself.

HI ,

Is it possible for Ad to play at the volume which you were playin the music ?

Ads play at a much louder decibals than the volume which I played music, that hurts my ears, please do something it.

thank you.
It is annoying and it can even hurt when I am listening to music at 20% of the volume and then the advertisement triggers at 100% volume. It should "remember" that i had my music at 20% and display the advertisement at the same sound level.
I absolutely agree!
I stream the music with the internet browser on the PC with about 15% of volume level. It hurts every time the adds blast my ears with maximum volume.
Please 'fix' this!

The bug is still alive

I just finished my 3 month deezer subscription promo and...it's back ! :-(

I don't think they'll never fix this.

I just hope they'll offer again a .99$ for three months premium, so my problem will be (kinda) sorted.

Meh.

I've checked here and this was investigated, but the team responsible needed more info. Is it something that happens with every advert or only with certain ones?
Userlevel 1
Dear Ana, sincerely i don't know, it happened twice in a day, and everytime was with the Def Leppard Ad.

I don't want to keep listening anymore deezer until the issue is fixed, so if you want i can give you my user and password and you (and the "team responsible") can feel what i feel when the volume became super-loud and you jumpscare on your chair.

That's all.

Thanks.

Alright, so it is only with certain ads. I will pass this on and they'll look into it, thank you for the feedback. If you - or anyone else - happens to notice it with other ads apart from the Def Leppard one, please let us know.
Same here. I've just finished the Premium trial and every ad I've got by now is the "Def Leppard" one, as other people state, is played at maximum volume, no matter what volume I am listening to the music and is really annoying.

I'd prefer to listen to an ad after every song but with no changes in volume.

Thanks for the support!

Alberto.

Hey Alberto, thanks for letting us know. I raised this with the team responsible already, but still waiting to hear back. I'll let you guys know when I have some news.
Here is the fix that worked for me. I found that I had lowered the Deezer application volume in the past on my desktop PC or laptop and because of some new software bug all the new advertisements had suddenly gained the ability to play at 100% volume even though the music was currently set to play at about 20% volume. That sudden 80% volume boost for the advertisements resulted in my ears ringing for a few days and my 1000 watt RMS subwoofer amp making a very loud popping sound and going into protection mode repeatedly until i could turn the volume down. I later realized that by turning the Deezer application volume up to 100% the music and the advertisements would both play at the same level. I highly recommend trying this fix until Deezer can get the bug out of their system.

Hi @Cedie and sorry for the very late reply. We are working our way through the ideas forum these days. I have moved your topic to this one as it is not an idea, but more a problem that needs to be solved. Please check this topic out to find your answer 😉

Hi there, sorry for the so late reply. I have seen your suggestion and moved it too another forum as this is rather a problem that needs to be fixed more than a new idea. Is this still happening and if so can you tell me if it happens with specific adverts or all of them?
Actually, I'm listening soft music with a low level of sound but, in the middle, sometimes there is the advertisement of a so strong heavy music. Could you imagine the situation? I know that there must be advertisements on the free edition, but not so noisy, please!!!

Hi @Roberto Martínez, we have already raised this with the team responsible, but still waiting to hear back...
Hello Deezer,

The volume of the ads are turned up even more. At least twice the volume compared to the songs. I am afraid I will blow up my speakers listening to Deezer, get so startled that I instantly turn down the sound and miss the entire commercial. Is this really the way it's meant to be and why are you still calling it an ad? I hope it will change.

Cheers

Hey @roverbox thanks for the feedback! That's a very good point you're making there. As Rafael mentioned already, we have informed the responsible team already.

But have you tried @Von.Glenn s workaround?

🤙🏼
That's the clue Von.Glenn. Thanks Shannon! My deezer volume was set on 20%. The adds game out on the full 100%. When deezer volume is set to a 100% the adds are only a bit louder. I am not having the whole neighbourhood alarmed. Super!! 😎
The volume of your ads is not at the same level as the previous song. It is very loud, and surprises/scares and makes no sense. Please analyse the volume of the previous song and play the ad at the same volume level.
