Hey there @LES 5 MERLES and @Supert

I agree with some of the things you've said. We were informed just as the feature was removed as well, which couldn't be more unhelpful. I admit there's a communication problem here from Deezer and I'm personally sorry for the impact this has had on all of us, on behalf of our English speaking community.

I'll be passing all the feedback from you, gathered from this topic, to the adequate team at Deezer. Apologies for now.

Last time I've checked Deezer's value was above 1 Billion USD - so I find it rather odd that many basic features are still not implemented. Think - volume normalization between tracks, think cross-fading on all platforms, think remote control of Deezer on PC via your Mobile device and vice versa, think - ability to create folders in playlists and albums. There are too many examples!

Add gapless playback to the list 🙂 Thanks :)
I do agree with your statement and Deezer is a smart but unfortunately relatively small company. They don't have the needed resources to improve the product with a good pace...We get what they can provide.
Sometimes I get back and pay my month of premium subscription just to see but that's it...

Hey there @unclnis and @Lorenzo

Very thoughtful opinions here. You guys know the reality and that's good, not everyone in the community understand how these things work.

My honest opinion is that Deezer, like any other company these days, does listen to their customers - not just via the community. But as a company Deezer also has its set goals for each year, and albeit unclnis mentioned its reported value, Lorenzo is right - we're a relatively small company. Investment is thought out this way and it's always a challenge to balance everything out. When I say 'goals' I also mean how we want to be perceived as a brand, not just the features/partnerships we want to release or the new countries we want to expand to.

At this point I can't reveal much but a lot of work is being done to drive our music streaming service to the next level. And I can also say that the next few months should bring positive news to all of us, users. You can already have a peak on some things by becoming a Beta tester, for example. We're also t in the future we can communicate with you better, so that everyone's on the same page.

Thank you all for your patience and for supporting Deezer as your streaming service. I'll keep coming here every day to hear you all for precious feedback and to hopefully update you in the meantime.

@Rudi
I'm following Deezer since 2014-2015 (more or less) and I can see the improvements that have been made so...what can I say...hope to see your goals realized in a not so distant future :)

I have always used Deezer because of the "Hear this" function. No other music service has such a great way to find new music. This will be the end of Deezer for me if it isn't brought back . 😞

I'll be waiting to end of June. What will be better than "Hear this" option? We'll see. I'll let you time. If new functionality which will have replace "Hear this" will be betterI'll stay with you. But I'm sceptic....
Work harder Deezer, and communicate better with us - because we pay you for your service - remember Deezer is, those who are subscribers

hi all and @Rudi , BELOW was the reply from Deezer on saturday, guess they didn't like the idea I was considering (and still am) cancelling my subscription shortly. In their reply, they suggest I look into the 'Flow' feature which, for me, does not replace 'Hear This'.'Flow' is just a blind way to hear music, hit or miss and when I'm occupied I do not have the time to leap for the computer and fast forward when its music I already have or know. In short, Flow is not a substitute for Hear This but another feature when you can't be bothered to investigate.

Hello Charlie,

This feature has been temporarily removed yes, we're working on a new one and improved user interface 😊

In the meantime, have you tried our flow feature? You mention how you discover new artists to add to your playlists, flow is based on your likes and will suggest new songs/artists too 😊 I will of course pass on your feedback, and please do feel free to share on our community https://en.deezercommunity.com/

Apologies again for the inconvenience caused.

Regards,

Roxanne

Hear this was as close as going to a music store and browse through records. you get a couple of recommendations per day and you have a chance to hear them all. Best way to explore new artists. I loved it. When you have removed "hear this" from the android app it was a massive disappointment and flow could not satisfy. I started using my browser and every day clicking on hear this was like unwrapping a present. Now Deezer has removed the same feature on a different platform, not giving its community a chance to have a say.

I believe this is a political and business related measure and not like deezer says "to develop a better service and a whole new experience". Hope you prove me wrong!

@LKN

I hope so too!
@LES 5 MERLES yes, Flow isn't the same thing. It's more of a temporary workaround. Let's see what comes up with our new interface.

Hear this is gone again from web version. Geez. no warning no nothing. it's just gone. Wtf Deezer. you ok man? we all want this feature but you just don't seem to get it? big BIG disappointment!!! What is so hard to get that we liked this feature???

"Hear this" was my favourite way to discover new albums. I do not like to discover tracks, I like to hear the whole album. I'm very upset that this feature is disappeared.
I thought something happened to my Android or browser, but it appears that virtually the most used feature has gone without any replacement. Which is utterly sad and frustrating.

All other features can't replace Hear This because you need to either KNOW what you search for or you need to browse by particular genres. Flow offers a very limited and repeating set of music (unfortunately).

The closest existing features I can think of are "Other Artists Like This" and "The Mix" available from the page of a particular artist, but the value of Hear This was that it offered albums (not artists) from DIFFERENT genres, and still all these various albums/artists/genres were generally based on my preferences.

From what I read in this thread, it's not just me... people really want to be offered random new albums (not new releases, it could be a 1970 album as well!) from a range of music styles a person likes.

I really hope this philosophy will be at the core of the new "notification experience."

Hi @Tony Mocanu I am very sorry, but it should be only temporary, please see above.

The only thing wrong with "Hear this" was the inability to unlike/dismiss content that you didn't like, and for this to prevent repeats being pushed at you.

Can you please get on with the upgrade, perhaps a time line would be polite, many of us are paying you know?

What happend to Feed?

normaly you have deezer.com/en/feed where is it?
I agree with most of what's been posted here.
'Hear this' had a huge added value set against Sportify

@Flo.Deezer @Rudi
So over a week goes by...still no 'Hear This', no substitute, just lame apologies that have trickled down some convoluted chain. Naturally paying customers would never be allowed to get away with temporary failure to pay a monthly subscription...'Dear Deezer, will pay soon, just working on it, promise. Soon!'
One more week and no Hear This or decent replacement and I'm over to new platform...once I've found a decent one I'll share with all you 'Hear This' fans, so you can also make an educated choice.

Go on! Work harder and quicker We are still waiting.
But me, only to end of June, how I wrote earlier.
"Hear this" have to return soon.
What a shame ! Even you're working to improve/replace this great feature, why remove it before finishing ?

I just dont get it, 8 days ago "hear this" section was removed. New feature isnt here yet. Enough is enough, no news no specifics. Looks like u dont treat your community seriously. Im done, my subscription is cancelled
Favourite tracks limited to 2.000 and Hear This gone - without any warning: Bye, Bye Deezer!
Hi all,

Today I found out too that the feature 'hear this' is gone....
I just installed the Windows app on my desktop and noticed that in this app 'hear this' is available.
Not sure if the feature ever was available on mobile phones, but on my iPhone I can't find the feature. Don't miss it on my phone either 🙂.

Hope this helps.
