Where is 'Hear This'?

Userlevel 3
It's gone...vanished...is no more. Where the hell has it gone...again??? It's essential for discovering, Exploring NOT the same. NO 'Hear This' NO Deezer subscription...so please put it back before I, and I'm sure many others, pull the plug. Thank you.

Hey everyone,

We're sorry you're upset 'Hear This' had to be removed. Deezer is working on a new notification experience, and therefore decided to depreciate this one, which is a bit outdated now - even though a lot of us still find it useful. We're doing this in the perspective of building a better UX for users. Please bear with us a little longer, we're working hard in the background to develop a better service and a whole new experience is on the pipeline! 🤓

Yeah, i will cancel my subscription becouse of it. Srlsly guys, i came here from spotify but it looks like u are even worse. "flow" and other playlists contains stady 400 songs and thats it, nothing new. The only way was to open "hear this" and find new artists and now its gone. I bet in next year u will delete flow and other options so we could pay for that one boring playlist.

Very bad news for me, ruined all day.
I reload the page in the hope that this is a mistake or some kind of bug. At least I'm waiting for some explanation.😞

Same here

+1, it was the single way to discover new artists that worked out for me. I would even consider this feature perfect if it would include new releases from artists I faved.
Userlevel 1
+1 I'm hugely disappointed by it's (accidental/deliberate) removal. I've found some great bands through this feature and have no idea why they'd remove it without a viable replacement.

Why has it gone AGAIN!!! Surely the rage expressed by users when it disappeared a few months ago was enough indication that you do not mess with HEAR THIS!!
Userlevel 2
Deezer - 'Hear This' is one of your best features so stop messing with it. It's the second time in a few months that it has disappeared. Put it back and leave it alone!

Hey @Rudi,

Maybe you should have had provide us with a new UX before removing the old one.

Hi @Rudi / Deezer, I'm surprised in this day and age when Deezer must have so much competition that it can just drop its customers so rudely. Users of any contemporary music platform build habits that become very much part of their day to day experience which is why they buy dearly for it. We pay 180euros a year for this service because we like it, music is a constant for us. I now don't like it and no, I'm not prepared to wait until you come up with some fandango WOW feature at some point in near future. As someone has just commented, maybe you could have politely informed everyone of your intentions and offered a smooth transition instead of just unplugging. I will unpug too very shortly and look for alternatives if this is update is not the same or an improvement. Best, Charlie

Hey there @LES 5 MERLES and @Supert

I agree with some of the things you've said. We were informed just as the feature was removed as well, which couldn't be more unhelpful. I admit there's a communication problem here from Deezer and I'm personally sorry for the impact this has had on all of us, on behalf of our English speaking community.

I'll be passing all the feedback from you, gathered from this topic, to the adequate team at Deezer. Apologies for now.

Not at all, mate, don't worry. I'm on the side of the community and as I've said, we were informed as it happened.
I'll keep this topic updated as soon as I get more info.
Hi there. Is Here this tab gonne for good (and new feature is planned in "forseable" future) or is this bug only?

In couple of threads on this issue there are differents explanations. So?

Bringing music lovers together with taking away probaly most important feature is a joke.

I do not know your algorithm behind flow, but it is bascially "broken record" playing same songs + some new hits thay one might, but more certainly, might not like.

So for true Music Lovers discovering new artist, albums, songs via Hear this is a matter of well... life and death. First you removed this from phone app and promised new feature months ago. Now this is gone from browser as well. Get your act togehther and put this back please and when you have something new add as beta and we`ll be happy to try and give feedback.

Tnx!

Hi there @Luka Kukec

Please see above.

What a silly move from Deezer. "Hear this" feed ever been my main entry to deezer as was the only working way to discover new albums from others sharing, Flow algorithm on the other side is so poor. Very disappointed !

Thanks, i've read above before posting 🙂 I understood you are a community manager, but i'm still very disappointed by the move so I added my voice. The feature still exists into the windows App, which gives even less meaning to that move.

Please keep 'adding your voice' as I'll pass the feedback on to our teams. I understand the disappointment 😓

I agree "Hear this" is my go to every morning to have a look if anything looks interesting!
Workaround i just found out: Windows Store App.

Apparently they forgot to remove the feature from that platform. Let's hope they don't find out soon.

Right, I wondered what people are complaining about, because I checked in my desktop app first where the Hear This tab is still available, even after updating today to a new version 4.4.4. But then I checked the web player where it is indeed gone now.
I only logged in to give one more voice to all the disappointment. For me, it is the main feature in deezer, and I won't keep my subscription if it doesn't come back soon.
I'm disappointed too, I like to hear entire albums than a playlists... Its time to test YouTube Music!😁

Hi Rudi, thanks for the clarification on this.
Being a new Deezer user, I must admit that I'm still on the fence if Deezer will be my main music streaming service. Issues like the OP of this thread mentions - are part of the reasons for that.

There are things which Deezer does better then, say - Spotify. Yet at the same time there are many features which in my opinion (and it seems many of the active users here on the forums - just look at "Got an idea?" section) find simply "half-baked". Something you would expect to see in a product/service from a 3 month old start up company, which released a beta version of it's product. But Deezer hasn't appeared yesterday, nor are we at version 0.2...
Last time I've checked Deezer's value was above 1 Billion USD - so I find it rather odd that many basic features are still not implemented. Think - volume normalization between tracks, think cross-fading on all platforms, think remote control of Deezer on PC via your Mobile device and vice versa, think - ability to create folders in playlists and albums. There are too many examples!

I understand that You and everyone else from the Deezer team here in the forum - do your best to forward the issues raised on the forum - to the R&D teams.
Yet at the same time I can't escape the impression that - either Deezer either does not care about what it's paying customers want, or there's some sort of miscommunication going on - as it's crystal clear to see that feature which have been requested more than a year ago - get no valid response from the R&D.

I truly hope there's something that can be done to shift how Deezer treats it's customers.
Maybe there's something we - the active forum members - can do to get our voice heard? Maybe you can turn to other channels in Deezer - who might have a reply better than "we have taken your feedback into account and give it Zero importance".

Much appreciated
