"Shuffle my music" is broken

So, as I've commented on couple of other related threads, the "shuffle my music" feature is totally broken. At least for my account.

No matter what I do, it always picks the same 27 songs (I had 225 albums in my music). The same ones it did on the first time I used the feature in December. I even removed all those 27 songs and albums containing any of them from my favourites/my music and then reset my play queue and clicked "shuffle my music". Surprise surprise, the exact same 27 songs are there again, just in different order.

And this happens on my mobile, macbook, window pc and different browsers, so don't even start with any cache cleaning bullcrap as a solution, because it has nothing to do with this and it doesn't work.

Edit: I figured I should try with a different account, so I created a new trial account and did some testing. There it works totally fine and indeed creates a new list based on "my music" even if I change my favourite albums and songs in between.

So there's something wrong with my account and some sort of reset from deezer-side would probably help.

Hey @koivar suggesting cleaning the cache is a solution that usually works in most of the cases but from what you're saying it does seem that there is something wrong with your account. I tested here and got the same thing, it always shows the same 27 song when it should actually give you a set of 50 songs (and not always the same ones, obviously 😉 ). I've already sent this issue for our developers to look into and I'll update this post when I have any news about it. In the mean time I've sent you an email so we can discuss a way to work around this 🙂

hi @Ana. any solution in the last 5 months? for the past couple of weeks i get the exact same songs, in the same order4, when i try to shuffle my music. ive cleared cache, cookies, tried a different browser, different computer, nothing helps.

No changes on the way the shuffle works, I'm sorry! But we will keep passing the feedback on to our devs 😉

@Rafael. this is not about how it works. it is about the fact that it is not working. i am always given the same songs, in the same order. it never changes. up until a couple weeks ago it was fine.

Any news from the devs on when this feature will be improved so that it works like any reasonable person would expect? I have read through this and other threads and there is a lot of frustration out there over this simple feature.

"Shuffle" suggests a degree of randomness (think of shuffling cards in a poker game) and also implies the whole 'deck' (to continue the analogy) will be included in the shuffle. I don't understand why it is so hard to revise this feature or why it is being given such a low priority by your devs.

If it really is so hard to fix, can I suggest renaming the existing feature as that should only involve changing some text. Perhaps label it "Just play the same few songs over"
