Please bring back IFTTT support!

Userlevel 1
I was surprised to be informed by Support team that Deezer does not support IFTTT anymore :(

It was a really helpful to add YouTube liked tracks to favorites on Deezer, and quickly add new tracks to a Deezer playlist via Note widget and so on..

Please reconsider this, it makes the Dezeer experience much more enjoyable and seamless!

Thanks in advance

I've been trying Deezer as an alternative to Spotify for a couple of days so far and I already miss the IFTTT integrations. Please bring it back.

Hi there fellow users,

Thank you all for your feedback. I've passed it on to the right team which deals with integrations. If there's an update about this, I'll be sure to reach this topic again.

Thx Rudi .
I hope you'll have some update soon because the integration with IFTTT is super important for us . It worked great before .

Hey @Noam Asulin

Sorry for the time taken to reply - I was finding out more about it. Btw, that's a cool profile pic! 😎
Apparently our IFTTT integration was developed by someone in one of our former teams. It seems that it also depends on IFTTT's side and that we currently don't support this. I'm trying to dig deeper within different teams so I'll let you know once I get an update. 🤓

Ha! I thought I was the only one using IFTTT integration.
All alone. Writing PHP code in the basement.

On a side note... when did you say Lyrics would get the axe again?

Just not buying this, guys. You gotta be kidding me.

"was developed by someone in one of our former teams"

A great way to show how cohesive and integrated your development process is I guess? With development attitudes like that, and presumably swapping teams every month, you're quite literally only bound to cut features. It's such a shame, not in the least because you've been around for years, you're supposed to know how to handle it, and yet we have this "let's just delete and re-write everything from scratch!" approach.

Hi there @Buckie

Where did you see that Lyrics would be removed?
Thank you for the feedback. We're still trying to get more information about the integration. And like any other company, structures and teams change so that we can work more efficiently. This is purely based on feedback from our users, who deservedly want more and better. So we're working on improving things. I'm trying to be as transparent as I can and not give a response which may sound generic, so I hope you understand.

I can certainly understand your position, Rudi with regards to transparency.
Lately we've been seeing an exodus of useful features, specifically: in-app messaging, desktop notifications, IFTTT, "Hear This" section. My Lyrics comment was half-joke, half-irony, because if we draw the line through the dots here, it's only natural to assume Lyrics is going to come next.

And I personally haven't seen any new useful features appearing and I haven't seen ancient problems fixed at all, specifically: lack of dark theme, broken navigation in desktop app, radically improved recommendations solution missing, and of course all of the above features that got cut.

And "one of our former teams" sentiment certainly sounds like development at Deezer is in jeopardy because again, if you draw the line between previous team(s) building a feature and new team coming in to declare they cannot work with that therefore let's nix it, then it follows that either the previous team was vastly incompetent to develop a feature that couldn't be maintained or improved upon, or the new team is incompetent as it cannot proceed forward without burning buildings in their path.

Let's talk about your comment for a bit now. You said "This is purely based on feedback from our users, who deservedly want more and better." Can you name a couple of user-facing new features that got developed recently? I only noticed a somewhat more conservative Flow, but that's it. Anything else?

I could understand all of this happening if Deezer was only just starting out and at version 0.6. That is not the case.

Really appreciate your feedback @Buckie. Some bits echo what we, community managers, truly want to see improving on our product.
We've been working for a long time on our Dark Mode, and our rebranding, which was very necessary as our brand travels to different and new parts of the world.
We've fixed several bugs and worked on new partnerships, at the same time developing a better integration with Alexa devices. We developed a lighter and more concise search tool and have been working on other massive features which should be coming this year. Unfortunately I can't share more details on exciting things that are about to come, mostly due to some challenges we're facing in development. But the ball keeps rolling...

We lost cool things like 'Hear This' and couldn't give all the time to other issues, but everyone is working on taking Deezer to a new level. It's just unfortunate that this time is also a time of transition. So stand by if you can, and feel free to PM for more details. You've got a lot of experience in our community that means a lot to us as well.

@Rudi
I really dig what you're saying and for the liking I have for Deezer (as I said months ago in a post) I understand all your challenges considering the budget...the development team and all...but...as a business YOU NEED to keep as many subscribers as possible. Now, for ex., "Hear This" was a good feature much appreciated by all your customers. My advice: replace something like that ONLY when you have something similar (no, Flow is not similar); don't simply axe it. And really, maybe the MOST important thing: fix the old bugs or implement important missing features like gapless playback that a) it has nothing to do with rebranding or new partnerships; b) it's been a number one requested feature since forever and c) it vastly improves listening pleasure.
Love your transparency Rudi. I feel like I have a real company handler.. 🙂

Thanks a lot @Lorenzo we really appreciate your feedback and our community team agrees with some of your points. We're trying to deliver new features, and some of them are coming out now, in a few weeks - and at the same time! Once they're done, we'll be looking at other priorities, like the features you mentioned. One step at a time, and with the help and patience of you users, we'll get there.
So keep bringing good comments like this, so that we can share with our devs and decision makers 😉

I'll do my best. Another advice. Please be very careful when you create band pages or link new albums to an artist because very often I find macroscopical errors. Take a look at this post for ex: https://en.deezercommunity.com/deezer-catalogue-45/jolly-band-messed-up-59314
I really like Deezer. There were a lot of features causing me to go for that streaming service.

Unfortunately, based on experiences and after reading this, I also have the feeling Deezer is lacking behind in features. It seems they are trying to cut costs heavily.

For example, the “I don’t want to hear this artist” is on the web player, should be on Android, but not on IOS. Not sure if it works decently. I tried it once on the web player. But the artist I blocked still popped up and was not filtered from playlists.

Another thing is editors. Maybe I’m wrong but I have the impression that there are less and less editors. One of the strong points of Deezer.

Another weak point: discovering new music. The discover flow contains favourites. When it is a favourite, then I don’t need to discover the song.

The token generator for some playing around with API is broken, now no more IFTTT.

These evolutions are not making me happier.
Hello,

Please put back IFTTT support.
Spotify does it, why wouldn't Deezer ?
Thx !

Mat.

Hi there @MatFromParisse and @Bart Heerman

Thank you for your valuable feedback. We're working on improving the 'block this artist' feature and will be discussing our integration with IFTTT soon.
Please bring IFTTT support with support to trigger flow. Will open a lot of doors for custom integrator's and home automation applications
