Question

How to check what stream quality is currently playing?

So I am trying out Deezer HiFi, since I am mainly interested in lossless streaming.

Set up the Desktop App, and selected lossless streaming - but is there any way to:

  1. Understand if the current song (or any song) is available in lossless?
  2. See what is the bandwidth of the current stream (like with Netflix)?
Thanks!

Hi there @whiteshirt

Unfortunately we're unable to display the bandwidth usage like Netflix. But on the app's right bottom corner you've got the audio button. This allows you set up the rate quality for the songs you listen to.
At the moment the Sonos app is the one where you can actually see if a track is HiFi or not. So why don't you join our ideas forum and start a convo about this there?

Yeah, Sonos is not an option. However, I see that earlier the Deezer app had an indication of whether any track is HiFi or not. Has that now been removed? I am trying to make an educated guess as to the viability of the HiFi subscription, and having this indicator would help tremendously.

Additionally, any thoughts about why the Queue on the Desktop app always seems to get populated with music which is nowhere near my selected preferences? I clear the queue (*) and the next time the app is open, the queue is back up with the same songs so I have to clear it again.

(*) A "clear queue" feature would be extremely helpful.

Hi @whiteshirt

About the queue, you can vote for the feature here. You can also change the 'Automated recommendations' off.

At the moment there's no individual indicator for HiFi tracks - over 36 million tracks from our catalogue are available in HiFi. You can start the convo on our ideas forum as well 😉
