@Rudi

Last friday, I turned off the computer. Today i started it again and the Deezer app is working as expected. Deezer helper sits at 5-8% CPU usage.

Seems to be that every time the app updates we need to restart.

Hi @zeoc, are you talking about our Beta app?

yes

We don't have known issue at the moment, but I'm investigating this.
Is it happening all the time or sometimes?
Also, I guess the answer is yes, but is your computer updated?

thanks

Hi
all the time and my mac is up to date...

thanks for letting me know. Just one more thing that will help us investigating this, are you using something else at the same time like downloading files? Also, any pattern that makes this happen, like certain album, playlist, artist...? Thanks!
Same issue here...
As soon as I open the App the "Deezer Helper" Jumps to 127% CPU-Usage even when I'm not playing anything. The Deezer App itself just uses around 3%.

I got more than enough CPU-Power, but my fans go to full power right away. Not a nice sound while just playing music.

Hi guys, I've checked with the team and they're aware of it. Lowering the CPU usage is one of their priorities right now. They've already made some progress, but it still needs a bit of work. Bear with us while we're working hard on this. And thanks a lot for the reports, we really appreciate it! 🙂
Any updates on this?

The Deezer Helper process on Mac is still often consuming 100+ percent of CPU continuously. The only solution seems to be to quit the Deezer app.

I really wish this annoying issue could be resolved quickly.

Hi there @mvaljento

Are you using our latest app version? I've tested the app on our side and Deezer Helper is actually using no more than 10% of the CPU.

@Rudi Yes, I'm using the version 4.0.5 which I believe it's the latest version. I just had to again quit Deezer to stop it using 100+ percent of CPU.

It's not always doing it, but relatively often.

Hi @mvaljento sorry about that. Have you tried to install the app again?
Hi @mvaljento sorry about that. Have you tried to install the app again?

Yes, I re-installed it and almost immediately the Deezer Helper process was again out of control. After an automatic software update this morning I also experienced multiple playback errors.

Guys, this is not a cheap service to subscribe. It's supposed to be premium quality. You have to start maintaining a higher standard with your software. Thanks.

I think I discovered at least one source of error which causes the Deezer Helper process problem: I found TWO Helper processes running in the Activity Monitor, the other one hogging CPU and the other one not doing anything. I restarted my computer, now see only one process and it's behaving well so far.
The problem persists. The Deezer helper process is still hogging 120+ percent of CPU and there's only one process. This problem is daily.

Also more than once a day the playback just stops with some unspecified error message.

Please fix.

Hi there @mvaljento @mikkoville

Please update the app to the latest version 4.1.1. And then let me know if the problem persists 😉

@mikkoville

What do you see on the error message? Can you take a screenshot?

Any news about this ? I still have the problem with version 4.2.5.

Hi there @zeoc

Could you uninstall the app and then search for ~/Library/Application Support. Then delete the Deezer folder and reinstall the app. Let me know how it goes!

Badge
Hi Rudi

already did that few weeks ago, without any success, what I saw yesterday was that after a reboot Deezer sometimes (only sometimes) works fine... I do not find the conditions or situation were Deezer Helper go to high cpu 😢
Badge
Hi again,

Some more (bad) informations, last night Dezzer Helper used 124% CPU continuously while the macbook was sleeping....This morning I try (again) uninstall/reinstall without any change...

Unusable at all !!!
I pay 10€/month and can not use it 80% of the time...

Hi there @zeoc

Sorry to hear that.
Could you please update your app to our latest version?
Also, have you tried doing some maintenance on your Mac? Perhaps repairing disk permissions and a fresh reboot could help?
Badge
Hi

I alreday did that so many times... my mac is uptodate fresh and run very well with all other apps (heavy apps, lite app, all app in fact except Dezzer...)

PS: it's not 10€/month but 15... may be for the last month...
Badge
PS2: even when app is not connected the Deezer helper is running at 122% ... for what ? mistery...

Hi there @zeoc

We haven't had other users reporting this recently - so if our devs investigate it, it might take a long time to get to the bottom of it.
I've done a bit of research, have you got any antivirus installed?
Badge
no antivirus, deezer alone just after reboot same problem.
