Hey guys!

Can someone explain the meaning of this sentence in The Other song by Lauv.

"Who wrote the book on goodbye" I can't fully understand the meaning ☹️.

I assume your first language isn’t English, so I will explain the best I can.  It is in the form of a question.  The person is asking, “who wrote the book on ‘Goodbye’”?  By this, they are asking why there is not more information, a better guide or rules on how to say goodbye to someone. It is a rhetorical question (a question that does not need an answer because the answer is obvious) implying that the metaphorical “book” or “rules” of saying goodbye to someone is unclear, and they are wondering who the metaphorical author is, because the “book” needs some improvement.   @Anmar

Hi there @Anmar

Interesting question :relaxed: could I have the link for the song so that I can give it a go and read the full lyrics?
