Add to Deezer DJ mixes

DJs are the main curators of music in the modern world, but at the same time, DJs who do not have their own music cannot publish and monitization their mixes.

Of course, in an ideal world I would like the DJs to be able to monitization their mixes too, sharing a stake with the music producer, but Deezer can take the first step, allow loading dj mixes with a complete track list. This means that all tracks are automatically detected and the producers also get paid for the listening.

Probably, only Deezer, it is impossible to create monetization of DJ mixes, but Deezer can help DJs, without their own music, in promotion. Just opposite the track that was playing in the mix
, will be written (mixed). This means that if the listener listened to the whole mix for 1 hour, and it was 12 tracks, this is the same as if the listener listened to 12 tracks separately to Deezer and the producer receives such royalties for listening.

There are already many algorithms for detecting music, there is no problem with that.
But let the DJs also be in the music industry.

The music industry lost a lot when it relied solely on music producers. Music producers write great music, but they don't understand at all how to make DJ mixes, and thousands of people come to their concerts, at that time, how they don't know how to keep the dance floor and don't have advanced DJing techniques.

Open the world of mixes on Deezer and come up with a way for any DJ to publish his mixes, millions of DJs will thank you.

Hey @Maximizer

You're always full of good suggestions, thank you. I'll forward this on to our devs and our editors :thumbsup_tone2:

In the meantime, have a look at our DJ collabs we've done recently: https://www.deezer.com/en/channels/module/6f5c432a-7957-4064-bee2-cc45a836553b

Thanks Rudi! This is a good start, it would be nice to have a separate tab for DJ mixes as well as search by genre.  Also, I have a question, if I listen to the mix for 1 hour, how does the monitization music in this case?

Best,

Pavel

I agree with the tab, good shout.

Interesting question, Pavel. I think Deezer will surprise you with that.

For all streaming services, money goes to those artists that get the most streams, regardless of what you as an individual listens to - even though everyone pays the same.

Have a look here and let me know what you think :relaxed:

This system is best.

I can support hard dance music only, not this commercial stuff.

Commercial artists are already rich without my money.

Thanks Rudy, I read :)

About mixes, I have a couple of thoughts

When loading a mix, the Deezer recognizes the playlist of tracks, and in those places where the algorithm could not recognize the music, the DJ must write the name of the track manually (as it works in mixcloud). If the user listens to the mix from 5 to 15 minutes, the Deezer will understand that 4 tracks have been listened to
-track 3
-track 4
-track 5
-track 6
And monetization proceeds as usual

I like the look you just made, where there is a mixed mix at the top and individual tracks at the bottom, which is very convenient. I don't think it's worth doing mixes, where each track is provided as a separate track (mixed). I don't think the Deezer Database will like it when there are 1000 versions of one track. It will also be inconvenient for users.

It would be cool to have the same system for DJ mixes as for regular tracks.

- Search by genre
- Recommended mixes based on preference
- New Mix Alerts from Favorite DJ's
- Storing mixes in playlists (this is already possible)
- Ability to subscribe to DJs and music communities

An interesting solution would be the ability to subscribe to DJs who only have mixes. That is, any DJ can create his own artist profile in Deezer and different users can subscribe to them, how it works for soundcloud or mixcloud.

It will also be useful for large communities like

Boiler room

Resident Advisor

Cercle

DJ radio shows
Various big festivals like Tomorowland, Ultra, Mayday, When a particular music community or company or club or site can upload their guest DJ mixes.

The situation with mixes does not look very good, because people have to subscribe to different artists or communities on different resources (soundcloud, mixcloud, YouTube) because there is no single system for DJs that would include all the mixes created over the past 30 years, like this made for regular tracks (Deezer, Spotify and others)

I liked this mix, check it out :)

listening to DJ mixes is actually more pleasant, because they keep the mood well, flow

DJs play on the radio, at festivals, at parties, it's great to listen to DJ mixes when we are doing something or driving in the car. The DJ can present the tracks in such a way and mix them in such a way that I would never listen to them separately, but the DJ can present them in a favorable light.

There are mixes whose style of music I don't really like, but the mix is made very high quality, for example this

Hello, listen hard dance mixes.

Deezer full of DJ Mixes…

from one hour to 10 hours mixes.

Also some podcasts have DJ mixes.

I often just put them on my headphones and dance like crazy for a hour alone. I mean you can lose 1 000 calories doing so, and like you said DJ mixes, will keep you out from bed, it works!

You never fall asleep if you listen these mixes I added.

Sometimes I do outside, but mostly home. Especially this quarantine time when clubs closed.

Happy listening! Deezer is full of dj mixes.

I am navigating on these 2 raw mixes today, enjoying.

I love Deezer Premium so much. Music, podcasts, albums, dj mixes…

all in one place. It saves me time when I can follow dj’s, artist and podcasts in one place.

Bottom line: Deezer is full of dj mixes, but finding them will take a good time.

I hope they can push dj mixes more, now they are a bit time consuming to find.

Thanks!

Deezer is full of similar mixes.

Like I said finding them is difficult. Perhaps, at Deezer, they need DJ mixes section which has it all based on user taste? It indeed sounds massive, I’ve been dancing to them whole day and night.

This night no sleep! You can find more searching for “Continuous DJ Mix” on Deezer.

Before when I was at Google Music paying for that, I listened DJ mixes on YouTube, but now when Google Music is closing these minutes -- I’ve been paying for Deezer and prefer to listen and like music on Deezer only -- DJ Mixes included. I already have third DJ mix in queue…

Deezer makes not only finding them easier, if you know how to, they sound better.

If you search “Continuous DJ Mix” there is plenty from calm house mixes to raw style mixes.

And anything in between, really.

@hpguru  @Rudi Yes, I understand, thanks, I will try to search this way, but it looks rather exotic from the point of view of a regular user, everything should be done in a more user-friendly way.

Also, these DJ mixes are positioned as podcasts and cannot be saved to playlists.

Yesterday I decided to look for information on how to publish podcasts in Deezer and this is a whole puzzle, it turns out that we need to create a rss channel, register on several services, and I have not yet reached the end of this process.

All of these things should be very simple. The DJ should be able to upload a mix just as easily,
how is it implemented in mixcloud or soundcloud

Have you tried Feiyr.com? They can release your mixes on every portal.

I think mostly, YouTube is more suitable for mixes, as you need often the allow of right holders to have a track in the mix. It also makes it this way if you plan to add it on streaming portals.

Personally I do not think podcasts are great for dj mixes, but some do release this way.
