Features :
  •  [LOGIN/SIGNUP] As done previously on iOS, the new smart journey was finalized on Android: login and registration journeys have been revamped and are now broken down in several successive screens. In particular, an animated gradient was implemented on the welcome screen (both light and dark modes), and the 'username' field is now automatically pre-filled with the email's prefix.
NB: The feature will be opened progressively to users of all non-MSISDN countries upon release.

Improvements:
  •  [artist] Restored the artist ban / unban option in the artist page's context menu (accessible from the top right corner of the page) (CV-3053)

  •  [messaging] Added the onboarding recall insert at the bottom of the notification center (MESSAGING-1757)

  •  [onboarding] Added an error message when users reach the maximum number of artists they can select from the onboarding screen (NME-1915)
  •  Made it possible for the app to be dynamically resized (to allow side-by-side usage on Android 6+ phones, normal usage on Chromebooks and desktop modes like Samsung DeX, and normal usage on foldable devices) (UP-7658)

Bug fixes:
  •  [favorites] Added a (bottom bar sized) margin at the bottom of the page when the mini-player is hidden (to allow users to access all items in the page) (UP-7515)
  •  [favorites] Fixed the color of the 'Favorite tracks' cover when adding a track to a playlist from its context menu in dark mode (UP-7546)
  •  [favorites] Made sure the 'Favorite tracks' page is automatically refreshed after adding / removing a track to / from favorites (UP-7237)
  •  [messaging] Ensured the onboarding recall insert (= "Choose artists" button) that is displayed when the 'Notifications' screen is empty is not truncated in landscape mode (MESSAGING-1828)
  •  [settings] Made sure the "Cancel" button dismisses the storage location change pop up in the settings (instead of behaving like the "ok" button) (CSU-29237)
  •  [settings] Fixed storage location detection (CSU-30671)

This app is getting better day by day.

The version I have now on Android is so nice and it works. I only see how it might get even better when these updates arrive on to stable channel. I want to thank you everyone working with it.

You are doing great job, the Deezer app on Android is excellent for months now!

Easily better than Google Music app which discontinued and I needed to go year ago for this app instead. At first it had much annoying bugs, but your time fixed them so quick! I am soon one year as Deezer Premium customer and soon I’ll let Hifi version a go. It should be better in sound.

Especially I liked how playlist search works, it’s now even improved I believe, on Google Music inside a list search nowhere to be found when I used it and no one really cared at Google Music.

The Deezer App is one of the best in marketplace to do its job for me, who lives for the music.

Hi @hpguru ,

Thank you very much for your feedback. The Android teams do hard work to improve the Deezer application every days

I am going to transmit your message to the different Android teams

Hi @Sanders Deezer!

What a bug fixes list!

Just a little question about the “onboarding recall” button, why he is in the Notifications Center?
In my opinion, this little guy (the button) can be happiest in the Artist section on Favorites Tab  (this is an interesting feature to exploit!)

Hi @Axouuu ,

This a product decision. I am going to report your idea to the person in charge of this decision. Then she might think about it

Seems the Add to Queue option in the track kebab menu does not work in this version. Instead, the Play Next button works the as the Add to Queue button. I just became a Deezer user, and am exploring it as an alternative to Spotify, so I’m not sure whether this is a bug in the present beta, or whether this behavior has existed for a while now.

I would expect Play Next to play the selected track directly following the currently playing track. If a track has already been queued as Play Next, the currently selected song should be queued as next in reverse order.

The Add to Queue button should instead queue the song after the currently queued songs (but before any songs that are auto queued from playing a playlist).

Here’s an example of how I would expect both functions to work:

Assuming the following songs are already playing from a playlist:

  • Track 1 (currently playing)
  • Track 2
  • Track 3

Play Next

Play Next is tapped for Track 4. The queue now looks like so:

  • Track 1 (currently playing)
  • Track 4
  • Track 2
  • Track 3

Play Next is tapped for Track 5. The queue now looks like so:

  • Track 1 (currently playing)
  • Track 5
  • Track 4
  • Track 2
  • Track 3

Add to Queue

Add to Queue is tapped for Track 6. The queue now looks like so:

  • Track 1 (currently playing)
  • Track 5
  • Track 4
  • Track 6
  • Track 2
  • Track 3

Thanks!
