Songs are skipping and missing parts

Hi all, I've found in the past few weeks that I'm having problems with a lot of songs on my playlists.
The song will start playing, and after about 35-80 seconds the song will skip to the last 10/15 seconds of the song, and then will play silence until the 'end of' the track time.
This is happening to about 1 in 10 songs I am listening to, and so far the only solution is to remove it and re-add it, but I shouldn't have to do that!

Anyone experience something similar?

Just uninstall the app and install it again. you will not face this problem

Hi there, sorry to hear that. Can you please give us more details of the device this is happening on? Have you tried to clear the cache?Do you get an error message?
I get an error message "unable to play...."

Have you tried clearing the cache like @Flo.Deezer said? Or reinstalling the app?
Let me know which device you're using the app on.
I have not tried clearing the cache. I can't seem to find how. Please help. Thanks.

I’m having a similar problem since 2 or 3 days ago. Skipping part wat through tracks - I get the following message “unable to play - the connection to Deezer was lost”. I’m playing via Sonos and having this problem with all Sonos devices. Tried changing router channel, changed Deezer password, restarted all Sonos devices....nothing works!!!
I have tried Google Play music and it works fine on my Sonos. I'm considering letting go my Deezer subscription.

I got this response from Sonos.
Unfortunately we are currently experiencing an Outage with Deezer, leading to the issues you have described. What we can do, is send you a quick e-mail as soon as the outage is resolved. You can also see updates here: status.sonos.com

About clearing the cache:

You can delete the cache, but remember it will delete your downloads too.

  1. Go to My Music
  2. Tap on the Settings icon
  3. Tap on App settings
  4. Scroll down to Disk Usage
  5. Touch Clear all

I have The same problem with my new huawei, IF I cant fix it i Will try tidal... To many song lagging and cut out and missing parts

Hi Deezer Team,

I am encountering the same problem after going from a Moto Z2 Force to a Huawei P30.

What I am encountering:
  • The songs are skipping part randomly online AND offline.
  • After uninstalling and reinstalling the app, not the same songs are skipping.
  • After uninstalling and reinstalling the app, I want from a smooth skipping to a vinyl scratch noise every time it skips.
  • Every time I restart the app, the first 2 to 3 songs are not skipping and then the problem starts.
I have tried:
  • Uninstalling and reinstalling the app twice.
  • Clear cache of the app.
  • Clear data of the app.
  • Allowed Deezer to access more location on the device.
  • Repair individual songs using the individual option on Deezer.
Is there any chance to have a TAT around when this issue will be fixed?

Thanks for the detailed feedback. Fortunately, the fix is on the pipeline. I haven't had confirmation of when it's going to be deployed but let's hope it's soon. I'll let you know!

I have a OnePlus and this started happening over the past few months on both downloaded and streamed tracks. 

I have cleared the cache and removed all downloaded tracks and the issue is still occurring. Can you please advise?

If this is happening to the same tracks, I need you to paste some links for them here, so that I can check if we need a redelivery.

But if this is happening to tracks on and off, randomly, I suggest you do the following, in this exact order:

  • make sure you're connected to a wifi network
  • uninstall Deezer
  • clean your phone's cache
  • remove the SD card (if applicable)
  • turn off your phone
  • reinstall Deezer
  • open Deezer and download at least one album or playlist
  • reinsert the SD card (if applicable)

Thanks for getting back to me. A few examples I've recently had issues with include some Prince songs, Frank Turner - smiling at strangers on trains, Peaches songs and various Oasis songs. For each song I've gone back to try listening again and they're still skipping - I've just tried Frank turner again and the same issue is occurring.

I'm having to skip at least 30% of the songs on my favourites list due to distorted sound issues. 

the same thing happened with me when i was listening exit visa song and i thought might be possible there is internet problem

Reinstalled which appeared to fix the issue with most songs temporarily although some are skipping again. I don't want to have to uninstall every time this happens.

I am living the same nightmare here : songs are skipping and jumping when played from the Firefox web player. Impossible to fix…

 

I tried :

  • Logging out and back out again
  • Closing Firefox
  • Clearing the web cache
  • The three at once

 

Nothing works. Super annoying.

I am now writing from Chrome : the result is the exact same. All songs a re skipping like a scrattched disc…

 

Help :) 

7 hours later, I’m trying again. In the meantime I worked on my computer and rebooted it.

 

Now it seems to work fine...

@sb.blackberry sorry to hear that. Could you please confirm the version of the Deezer app you have?
