Quite a lot of tracks are playing at wrong speed, eg an lp record playing at 45rpm instead of 33rpm

Hi there @Mark Weir

Sorry that's happened.

Could you try the following steps, exactly in this order, to see if it helps with your issue?

  • make sure you're connected to a wifi network
  • uninstall Deezer
  • clean your phone's cache
  • remove the SD card
  • turn off your phone
  • reinstall Deezer
  • open Deezer and download at least one album or playlist
  • reinsert the SD card

Let me know how it goes :thumbsup_tone2:

Hi

I'm using Lenovo X3a40 phone, without SD card

The problem is that after unlocking the screen current song changes speed, and it's not possible to listen to it

I reinstalled the app, restarted my phone, it didn't help.

Please, solve this problem, you're making me to cancel my subscription and to change the music app 🙄

Hi there @Allinn_Mallinn

Sorry that's happening. I've carried out some maintenance on your account, to see if it helps. But I believe the problem is likely to be in our app, on your phone. What's the app version and the OS you have? When you reinstalled the app, did you do that after restarting your device? Let us know, would be happy to help.

Hey hi! Hope you're doing well and stay safe. In my saved playlists and while online listening also, random songs are played too fast. I can find no logic why some songs have changed the speed, but that are always the same songs in the playlist. Also, once the "speeded" track ends, the next one doesn't play as it's supposed to do due to the settings. It just stops to play.

It's OnePlus 7T pro, 6.1.24.99 version of Deezer. Hope you could help.

Hi @Kateryna_Zhy we are sorry to hear this is happening, this should not be the case.

  • Could you please let us know which songs are playing too fast? Please send us artist, title and Deezer URL link, so we can find the correct version immediately.
  • Does this happen with all audio settings or just a specific one?
  • Does this only happen with downloaded tracks or online as well?

Thank you

Hi. Hope you're doing well there and stay safe. I can't remember all the songs, but here is a couple I remember for sure:  http://www.deezer.com/track/554446  (torn by Natalie Imbruglia) and  http://www.deezer.com/track/69001729 (PDA by Interpol's)

That happens with all audio settings

It's played wrong both online and from downloaded playlists.

Hi @Kateryna_Zhy both very good songs  I just listened to them and could not reproduce the issue - the speed was correct, not too fast on my device. Could you please remove them from your favourites and then add them again?

In case this does not fix the issue, please follow all troubleshooting steps listed in this topic. Thank you

We'll, deleting and adding the songs again didn't help. And are you serious when talking of deleting the app, removing SD, etc? I mean - uploading the saved playlists again will take ages! And the phone has no SD card at all... Seems like you guys just have a bug, that's common for a huge number of users - and you just don't know what to do with it. And maybe don't want to.

Not something I expect from an application with premium subscription.

Hello @Kateryna_Zhy, a lot of errors are accumulating themselves in the cache (temporary data to make your app run faster) which can make the app dysfunction, this method is a way of cleaning this corrupted data, and it works very well in most cases.

Have a nice day

Hi there @Kateryna_Zhy

Thank you for your honest feedback - and apologies for the inconvenience.

If you have music downloaded in playlists, you can just toggle download for these playlists again. Our app doesn't seem to work properly in an SD card, that's why we recommended those tips.

It's not worthy to pay for the app and get the apologies. Just for your information - deleting cache, deleting uploaded playlists, re-installing the app didn't work. And some more tracks i've found - Shine on you, crazy diamond (Live) by Pink Floyd,  and Lost on you  by LP  are speeded.

And again - I have NO SD card. That's definitely not the reason.

Hello @Kateryna_Zhy, the troubleshooting steps we gave you do work for the vast majority of this kind of issue, it’s a matter of errors accumulating themselves in the temporary data of the Android OS. I’m sorry that it does not solve your issue. Do you remember since when this all started, so we can compare the date with update releases on our side?

Have a nice weekend

“It's not worthy to pay for the app and get the apologies.””

Just found this tread, I have cancelled sub for the same reason this month, it has nothing to do with the cache or anything related to your device. Song with this error is always different and they cannot be even fixed when you download it, reload it. Only solution is to switch to another device which is ridiculous for a specific song (which has problems with other songs that day). Solution must be investigated on server side.

I have tried everything and it getting worst in when it started it was approximately 10% of the song now it is 15-20% and as non-sub you have to listen the same deezer advertisement over and over again. I thought it is a good approach against YT but I lost fate in it.

It started with one song for me approximately 2-3 months ago. With Serebro - Mi Mi Mi and it was not played properly for weeks it was clear that the problem is on server side as this track was played 1,5-2x speed on all on my devices. Now this song is ok but just get 3 broken tracks in a row yesterday.

This is probably issue with CPU working clock and energy management. Poor, low quality devices have problems with it. It can be fixed by proper software coding but… who cares about this low end devices? Try disable power-savings options in phone and absolutely update to latest version of firmware (if exist).

Both my Samsung A40 and my T720 tablet has this issue whether I use them with something else or not. I am not an expert but I would not consider them low end devices at least not for listening music.

It sad to see how this is handled at my workplace similar effect for that many user should be fixed at least in a few weeks but not months. Beside poor algorithms for new song this is also a prove the Deezer does not care customers.

As I said: try to disable power management or change it somehow to check. BTW: I dont have any problems with Deezer, also with access Hi-Res Audio on Android device (Hi-Fi quality) and two mobile phones on BB OS 10 (HQ quality).

There is no connection with power management mods, issue present anyhow. I think it understandable to be critic with a service provider if you pay for a service and it has a mayor bug which can be present on millions of devices and it get no fix for months.

I dont see “milions devices”, only few low models with CPU clock problems. Welcome in real world: You have, what You buy.

I have exactly the same issue on two different android products. Can't be the phone and the tablet surely??
