I've already reported it further, just waiting for our devs to investigate it. Let's all stay in touch for developments :pray_tone2:

Same issue here, currently using unsatisfactory fix by using alternative keyboard.

@Rudi 4 days later   any fix in the horizon from your devs?

Hello @Timocean

The fix was released yesterday and is now available for everyone (version 6.2.20.124). Please let us know if you still encounter problems with your keyboard.

Sorry again for the inconvenience

Hey @Chanuka Nadun

Really sorry for your frustration!

Just to make sure I get this right, you start typing a letter and the search suggests a whole word?

Let's say you write F, the suggestion appears, what happens if you continue writing without tapping on the suggestion?

I have this exact same problem. Started a few weeks ago. Is driving me insane. Been using Deezer for four years and this has me days away from switching to Spotify. Please please fix it!!!! I've uninstalled and reinstalled and no fix. Only happens on Deezer. Major bug!!!

Also just to clarify, it's not even predicting anything, it just does this crazy thing where it types loads of repeat letters and is almost impossible to search what you want to search because every time you type a letter it types about three or more additional letters without you telling it to

Hey @Hlolly

Sorry to hear that. @Hlolly @Chanuka Nadun Could you please let us know what device model, OS and app version you've got? I need to pass the info to our devs so that they can reproduce it.

Same, I have a xiomi i10 and Android

I'm having this problem too. It just inserts random repeating groups of letters when typing. Even pressing delete adds more random text. Suddenly began happening 2 days ago. Samsung Galaxy S10. Android.

Version 6.2.20.115

I can't search for music on the search bar, if I press eg D it will type DD making it impossible to search.

Same here and I am using Samsung Galaxy s7 edge device with android.

Version 6.2.20.115

I have the same problem. Frustrating!!! Samsung A5

I have a similar problem.

Every time I press a key, the whole word is repeated in the search field.  For example, entering David becomes DDaDavDaviDavid on screen.  The problem only appeared this morning.

App version is 6.2.20.115 runing over Android 6.0.1 on a Samsung tablet.

Hi there @CaveManDaveR @Kim Hardies @Stizy @FeastOfSnakes @GoodyZarr @Chanuka Nadun @Hlolly

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I've been grouping your comments here because it seems you're all being affected by a similar issue and you all have one thing in common, a Samsung device. Except for @GoodyZarr.

Could you try the following steps, exactly in this order, to see if it helps with your issue?

  • make sure you're connected to a wifi network
  • uninstall Deezer
  • clean your phone's cache
  • remove the SD card (if applicable)
  • turn off your phone
  • reinstall Deezer
  • open Deezer and download at least one album or playlist
  • reinsert the SD card (if applicable)

Let us know how it goes :thumbsup_tone2:

No. Followed the steps. Didn't work. It's still inserting random text in search. Even holding the back delete button simply adds more garbage text.

This makes Deezer unusable for searching and adding new albums. I'd either expect this to get fixed quickly and receive a refund for the month, for the inconvenience; or you tell me you can't fix it and I'll cancel my subscription and go somewhere else. This would be a shame as I like Deezer but I'm not paying for a broken product.

@Rudi thanks and the problem has been rectified.

Actually @Rudi its back to the same thing. It only started after reinstalling and after a while it started again. It must be a bug and can only be fixed with an update

Thanks a lot, @Stizy @FeastOfSnakes

I've already reported it further, just waiting for our devs to investigate it. Let's all stay in touch for developments :pray_tone2:

I tried a second time and this time uninstalled 360 along with the regular Deezer app, following the same instructions, and it made no difference. Still types garbage.

This started a couple of days ago. When I try to enter a search the keyboard malfunctions. Each letter is doubled and the space bar won't work at all. If I enter t then h I get tth etc. If i enter very slowly I can get the word  'the' but the space bar still then doesnt work and if I start typing again I get thethe. The keyboard works fine with all other apps. The problem goes away if I turn off predictive text but then I don't have predictive text for my other apps either. I have tried uninstalling the app, deleting cache, restarting phone and reinstalling but it makes no difference. I have a galaxy A5 android 8.0.0.

Having the same problem...started this morning...very frustrating!!!

Tried that, but the problem remains.

I have the same problem. Each next letter repeats typed before. Like this:

"bbebeabeatbeatlbeatlebeatles"

I am using Oneplus 7 pro with android 10 and have same issues. Letters are just repeating. If this is not solved soon going to Spotify definitely

Having the same issue. Samsung S7 and Android 8.0. The tried the above steps to rectify the situation, but unsuccessful.

I hope you come up with a fix soon.

Cheers.

Hi there, everyone @TonyO @IgoroK @Danluvzrox @Chanuka Nadun @Hlolly @GoodyZarr @FeastOfSnakes @Stizy @Kim Hardies @CaveManDaveR @AntK @Chris Kinsella

We're investigating the issue at the moment. In the meantime, could you please try a workaround? Perhaps you can use Gboard instead of the regular/native keyboard on your phone. Can I have volunteers to test this out? :yum:

Gboard works as a fix
