Userlevel 1
Hello,
After last Deezer update, I'm struggling with strange problem, each time when new song starts, my car Bluetooth unit muted. I'm using Deezer on Android 7.1.1 connected to Skoda superb 2017 Bluetooth unit. It's making me crazy :-)

Ideas?
Thank you for advance,

Hi everyone,

I'm creating a new report to our devs based on all information reported here in this thread. Could you please specify how to reproduce this? Also, could you also let me know which car system do you have? (2 users already reported having a Skoda)

I need to ask some more questions. When readio mutes, can you see that Deezer is still playing the song? Also does the sound just pause or actually stop? And what do you do to hear the sound again?

Deezer still playing the song, my car shows that the sound is muted. To hear the sound again, I'm increasing volume or pressing unmute button.

Thanks a lot for the info 🙂 We haven't hear of that issue yet, but I'll pass it on to the team. I will of course let you know, should I get any update ! 🙂

Thanks a lot. Other information that can be useful: if skip the song manually, it's working fine.
Hi, I have the same problem with a bluetooth audio adapter (Avantree Roxa plus). Since the last update, audio stops at song transitions, even if the app shows that the song is being played. The phone's volume for the bluetooth audio does not change. A pause/resume cycle makes it work again, until the next one or two songs.
I have another bluetooth audio adapter from a different brand, and the problem does not show up there.

Anja, The bluetooth issue. This affects only my Android Deezer App & its BT connection. The PC browser Deezer page works with BT, as does my Windows Phone Deezer app.

On my Android App there are no error messages. The app appears to play each track in its Queue. But only a small number of tracks come out of my bluetooth speaker, the majority of tracks play silently. There are no messages. Amy track selected manually plays successfully, but with Deezer Flow, albums, and playlists, any subsequent tracks are unlikely to be audible. But a few are.

I installed a new version of Deezer just one week ago. I have disconnected and reconnected bluetooth but no change.

Tomorrow I can try my Android App on a different speaker and in Offline mode (that is, try it in my car) to test if the problem is extensive.

When I'm playing music on Deezer through Bluetooth speakers, the audio stops coming out the speaker at the end of every song and only resumes again when I hit play twice.

Hi Nicola 🙂 So you only have the issue with one speaker but not the other?
Yes (these are two different systems in two different places, which I connect to from the same device). But both were working fine until recently. I also just checked that the problem does not appear with another popular streaming app.
I can clearly replace my audio adapter since they are cheap toys, but I guess that's not an option for varshik's Skoda anyhow 😉

Thanks Tony 🙂 Any chance you could update your Android Firmware on your phone? I've passed it on to the team already but just need to make sure it's not the Android version 🙂

@Nicola Amapane Thanks a lot for the reply 🙂 Since we were not able to reproduce it just yet (Looks like an issue with only certain devices). I checked a couple of Android forums. Can you try the following, please

1. Check if you still have the issue when you actively use the Deezer app until the track ends and switches to the next track, or if this only happens when the phone goes into lockscreen when the track plays

2. Not optimizing the battery usage for that specific app.
Go into settings > battery > three dot menu in the upper right > optimize battery usage
Then uncheck the specific apps you don't want the audio to skip on.

3. Download the app "soundAbout" and tick the boxes for the right output devices

Please let me know if any of these steps help 🙂

@Jacob.Winocour I moved your comment to this existing topic as you seem to have the same problem. Would you mind to also go through the steps I mentioned above and check if that makes any difference?
@Anja : I did some tests;
  1. I still have the issue even if I actively use the phone and app to prevent the phone going into lockscreen.
  2. I do not seem to have this option in my Androd version...
  3. I installed SoundAbout and the problem still happens even if I force audio to the right device (ie: "Bluetooth(A2DP) (name_of_device)" in the list. Once audio goes mute, changing this to something else and back makes the track audible again, until the next stop (exactly as a pause-play sequence).
As reported by @Tony.J , the problem happens for most tracks, but a few get through (I'd say one every 5 or 10).
I have the same issue with my phone (Nokia 6-Android 7.1.1 ) and a bluetooth speaker SONY SRS-XB10. I unchecked the 'optimize battery usage' option for the Deezer app and used SoundAbout but didn't work. I noticed that even when I try to jump to a different moment of the song the app goes mute but shows as if the song was still playing.

Anja,

I confirm my Android Deezer Bluetooth problem exists even with the app in use and the tablet is kept awake.

I changed Deezer app to Not Optimising Battery Usage with no effect.

I downloaded SoundAbout but I am unclear which boxes need to be ticked.

To recap the position & devices.

My Google Nexus tablet is not playing all tracks on an album/playlist/Flow to my Bluetooth-connected speaker, a UE Roll 2 (Ultimate Ears). Tracks started manually always sound through the speaker.

This tablet Android Deezer app DOES play all tracks when connected to my car audio device/radio.

Other Deezer apps do work correctly with this UE Roll speaker, from my Windows browser and from my Windows phone.

The Amazon music app on this tablet also works with the UE Roll.

It seems everything works with everything else by Bluetooth except the Deezer Android (tablet) app with the UE Roll speaker - the app "plays" tracks but only a small number produce sound. When left to play I hear occasional full tracks then several silent tracks.

The UE Roll Firmware is up to date.

The Google Nexus tablet firmware is as up to date as Google will allow.

Anja, to be precise the tablet with the Bluetooth sound play issues is running Android version 6.0.1 Marshmallow. This has not updated for some time.

The Deezer Android app version is 5.4.16.112

Hi all and especially @varshik !
I am having the exact same problem.
I use a BB KeyOne running on android 7.1.1. and my car is a Skoda Superb Mk3 with the MY18 Columbus infotainment system.
Since last Deezer update, it's no longer possible to listen to more than one song when connected to my car infotainment system via Bluetooth.
It plays the first track well, and when the following track starts, the infotainment system goes mute (showing a mute icon).
Deezer continues to play on the phone, but it does not seem to send any sound nor information to the infotainment system.
Everything was absolutely fine before the update.
I have tried everything:
  • Clear the smartcache
  • Disconnection/reconnection
  • Using Android Auto to open Deezer
  • Using the equalizer
  • Deactivate all battery optimization profiles implying bluetooth or Deezer
  • Uninstall/reinstall of the app
  • Factory reset of the phone (yep)
Other streaming apps (Play Music, YouTube Music, Amazon Music) are working fine!
I think the new version of Deezer does not work well with Android 7.1.1.
Is there a Deezer update on the way?
I am premium and I only use Deezer to play music in my car as I spend a lot of time in it...
Please do something, it's incredibly frustrating!
I have my deezer app playing on my phone. It is connected to an UE boom. It successfully plays the first song on a play list but the consequent songs don't play automatically. They continue to play through the app but not through the speaker. When I notice I have to pause and play again, and it plays through the speaker. but by this point the song is already half way through. Does anyone know what's wrong

Hi,

I am using deezer premium on a Moto G 5 s plus, connected via bluetooth to a jbl xtreme speaker.

Whenever I try to play any sequence of songs (flow, or a playlist, for example), deezer will play only the 1st song. It will GO to the next song, and it LOOKS as if it's playing, but no sound comes out of the speaker.

It doesn't happen if the speaker is connected via cable, or if I am using earphones or the phone's built in speaker, only via bluetooth.

I've already uninstalled and reinstalled the app, cleaned deezer cache and restarted my phone, but it didn't work.

I've also received help through here before, and was told to do an awkward set of procedures, like removing my sd card, then listening to at least one song offline, and many other things that didn't work, even though I followed the steps carefully.

Please help, because it seems that listening to a playlist through a bluetooth speaker seems to be one of the main things one would want from an app like deezer, doesn't it?

If I can't get it to work, I am considering cancelling the subscription, since this is the main use of the app for me.
