Homepage doesn't automatically update (Android)

I recently subbed to Deezer and so far I'm loving it but I realized that the "recently played" section and the "You might love" section for example doesn't update at all unless I manually swipe down and refresh the homepage.

I can listen to a thousand songs in one day and the "recently played" section still won't update, closing and reopening the app doesn't fix this either....only manually swiping down and refreshing the page works.

So I'm curious if this is just a Deezer thing or if it's a bug within the app? because I know every other music service has a homepage that updates right around the clock without any user effort.

My app acts the same way.

As well for lists and data to update you need to swipe down.

I did it daily to the point I can not stand it anymore. So see it for yourself.

Are you willing to swipe down daily?

Swiping down is now a thing I do the most on my phone. I so feel you!

I didn't plan to subject myself to something like that because I still have my Spotify subscribtion and I'm used to everything being automatic....I really love Deezer though and actually planned to drop Spotify.....not sure as yet if I'll be able to tolerate swiping down daily though :/

I actually transferred my lists over the place you came from because of this update problem. I also have seen many other issues with Deezer within a year of my stay here. You may be interested to know this: search is not very useful, Offline lists not downloading on Android automatically, you need to swipe down to them download if even then. As well you might find annoying artist pages: many pages can miss release or few actually, or some are blank from anything: so you’ll have hard time discovering. FLOW might play too much of a releases you already like. Thanks a lot.

Trial more, and then perhaps, act accordingly.

Spotify is on the other hand big and Deezer tiny. You might wait a lot for your feature request to be improved and they generally have less personnel fighting with these bugs at Deezer Music.

In my opinion Spotify is also more decent: stylish and almost decent. No bugs.

I’d personally prefer more working apps over buggy ones.

I agree that Spottily is really automatic, but Deezer has long way to go to reach that. Perhaps not in our lifetime. They are generally so slow to develop because of limited Deezer resources.

They also are equal in price 10,99 in FI, so are you ready to settle for less?

Unfortunately, I just don't think the Deezer team has the resources. Lots of bugs go unchecked. The refresh issue being one that's been around a long time. Things like crossfade that have been in beta since the dawn of time I think. I'm not a fan of Spotify. Their all in approach with Podcasts have made their homepage a jumbled mess. I don't care about seeing my daily horoscope podcast. If a swipe down is all it takes, I'll just have to live with it over the clustered hot garbage that is Spotify. @Rudi any ideas?

It’s not for everyone, but I’ve been discovering more with it music.

So much recommendations, not just Deezer lists all over. Deezer added You might like section, but it’s still nothing near experience elsewhere, let’s say on Spottily with ton of rows all personal.

I see that you give a valid point.
First is that service we mentioned is not for everyone and second that Deezer does not have enough resources. It’s sad, because I only need one player, and I no more use Deezer for this one.

I simply need more features and looks.

Whether not everyone let’s say like Apple Music, they still are more popular than Deezer.

I personally do like podcasts and I can’t wait to use them more when they are “pushed” more now.

The fact that Deezer still does not let you QUEUE podcast between music is silly.

Other thing, is like mentioned, home page does not update automatically.

I am still hopeful that Deezer will eventually improve .

Thanks for the feedback @chughes_wisely

Deezer is developing a new player and that will have a brand new crossfade out-of-the-box, that buggy Beta one will be scratched. We've been working on this for months, and our teams hope to have more news by the end of this year :fingers_crossed_tone2:
