My Deezer Android app starts to play by itself too.

I was often in the shower, and even swimming pool sauna, where in my locked room hard dance music started playing. I came back from shower or swimming training, and it played. I now know why. I have Xiaomi Mi Band 4 and it has an option to play and pause, skip Deezer music as well.

Some bands like Xiaomi Mi Band 4 can provide with lock the band feature, but I found it by the touch of shower or when swimming it can easily open by itself and music starts playing randomly.

It doesn’t need much when band thinks you touched the right thing for the playback.

In reality it was just water all around the band in the shower or pools.

Wow! I always mute my phone now, as in spa for example, the waitress said to be tired about hard dance music it played loud whole two hours in my locked room. And in Swedish as well.

Går I Säng Med Min Lärare, Går I Säng Med Min Lärare

Do you have any clocks or sport bands? Perhaps because of them music is playing?

If it is not applicable for you, then perhaps reinstall of Deezer would do.

Leẗ́’s take it to the next level!

I was listening to Internet radio using another app, and all of a sudden another music started playing (cacophony). It was Deezer, and the application wasn't even opened, so it was the background service. I had to open the app to pause it, and then close it again.

I was connected with my Bluetooth headset, but it couldn't have been from its play button as I wasn't near the buttons, and if it had been a button push, it would have paused the Internet radio - which is precisely what actually happened when I clicked the play/pause button after pausing and closing Deezer.

So, why Deezer started playing by itself? Any ideas?

Hmmm, interesting feedback @direc85 something may have triggered the app.

Could you please let me know which Android and Deezer app versions' you've got installed?

Thanks for the reply. I think I have it sorted out now.

Actually I'm using Sailfish OS 3.4.0.24 - a not officially supported platform with Android app support - with Deezer 6.2.19.55. I was flummoxed at first, but later it happened again. At that time I was looking at the screen, and the reason was another, native application emitting a notification with sound attached to it. This in turn made the system emit pause signal before the siund, and play signal after the notification sound was played, via mpris. The mpris support in SFOS is...not up to speed, and doesn't work reliably. That made it so that the pause signal didn't reach the Internet radio app, but the play signal reached the Deezer app, resulting in said cacophony.

The next release should have improved mpris support - both natively and for Android apps, too - so it may or may not be fixed in Q1, or Q2.

Sorry about the false alarm! Cheers!

(Now I have to figure out what is so special about that notification and its sound; e.g. email and SMS notifications make sounds, too, but they don't mess with mpris...)

What a journey of discovery! @direc85

I've learned so much with your post. Thanks a lot for sharing!

You mentioned that the next release of your chosen OS is coming the first half of the year. If you're not back here in the community by then, please report once you've got it, so that we know how it works :relaxed:

And it just happened that the early access pre-release version was released this Friday (I think) and I am running it, of course!

Sadly, the mpris support isn't any better :(

Well, actually, the mpris bridge for Android app support is now started automatically, so the headset buttons work right after reboot! The lock screen controls however only work partially, so no changes under the hood there…

I would also like to thank you for making Deezer Android app in such way that it works well even without Google Services Framework installed! It's great for us Sailfish OS users, too, not only for LineageOS and other AOSP based systems! I am a very happy premium customer 😊

There's nothing to thank us for @direc85 you're the one making Deezer better :relaxed: and now the community too!

Please keep us posted with your findings :v_tone2:

This has started happening to me as well. Out of the blue, Deezer starts playing. Embarrassing when I'm in a meeting at work! Please fix. 6.2.26.1

I ended up of getting rid of my Mi Band.

I returned it to the store and explained how Deezer is starting to play itself when one is in shower with this band LOCKED. So technically it shouldn’t put music on. But it will. It even starts new training itself, even in swimming pools it can happen, so they returned money back 100%.

With that money.

I bought old-school Casio watch with no smart features and had leftovers.

No more Deezer plays by itself and no more training starts out of blue.

Half the price compared to €50 Mi Band 4 I had.

I still like “Går I Säng Med Min Lärare” though. But all these waitresses in the pools and spas have no need to listen “Going To The Bed With My Teacher” hours long I am in from Deezer swedish.

Hi there @Michael Capehart

Like @hpguru explained, do you have any device which could trigger the app to play?

Yes. I have a Samsung smart watch. I'm not getting rid of my watch though. Thing is, I've had the watch all along. It just started suddenly.
