How long will it take for Deezer to fix this issue? No matter what you do the mobile app has connection issues and won't play more than 30 seconds of a song or anything at all!

It works perfect from Heos on my reciever.

If they can't get the mobile app working I am out and canceling my subscription!!

Hello,

Folks here are happy to help, but providing more information will be helpful. What device you are using, what version, operating system, that sort of thing

Contacting deezer support is also an option.

I currently have an LG V50 running the new Android OS 11. I have tested it on apple devices, other androids operating on older OS's and none work. As far as the Deezer version its the newest one available for download. I have yet to find a mobile device Deezer works on.

Hey, would you mind being more specific? What do you mean saying it does not work? Do you receive an error message? Can you not download it? I have a mobile device runnin Android 11 and it works fine. Have you tried contacting Deezer Support

As stated before I am on an LG V50 running Android 11. The application is the newest version available for download on google play. I have uninstalled and reinstalled numerous times. The application allows you to log in and choose a song. Sometimes it plays, sometimes it doesn't. If it does play it never makes it further than 30 seconds of playback before stopping with an error message saying its unable to play the selection. It is clearly an issue with connecting to the servers. It does not matter if it is over cellular connection or WiFi. This happens on my phone, my wife's iPhone 12, my daughter iPhone 7 and my older Samsung S8+ still operating on Android 10.

I have tried every single fix offered on the internet.

The only way Deezer works is via the Heos app on my Marantz receiver.

Hey @Mr2sday thank you so much for the extra info. Can you make sure your smart cache is emptied following the steps here. Also, please allocate more space to your smart cache, move the dot to at least the middle of the bar on all devices.

So I started and restarted the app 10 times, logged in and out each time. Restarted my phone at least 5 times and it finally let me adust the settings. If I bottle the quality down to HQ instead of the High Fidelity I pay for it works. So I guess I will have to adjust my plan which is stupid.

You should not have to adjust your plan, I agree. Have you tried the smart cache trick? It really does help! Do you have an SD card in your mobile?

The app really shouldn’t depend on the size of the smart cache to work properly. I have 20gb allocated for smart cache and you are saying I should make it even bigger? Should I give it all the disk space available to work? That’s just bad app.

I’ve been plagued lately with error: failed to play, and Error: requested content is not loading/fail to load content, and after many Years I’m thinking about cancelling my subscription as this is becoming unbearable. Have to click many times retry and cancel after almost every song. Downloaded songs are working fine it seems.

And another poorly done part of the app is storage. Why on earth don’t you separate cache from downloaded songs? If there are errors with cache I have to delete all of my downloaded library every single time… It’s just exhausting and kills my will to use the app.

I really like deezer, and would hate to be forced to abandon it, but this at the moment is, sorry to be so blunt, just unusable garbage app.

Hi guys,

20gb should be enough for sure, adding more smart cache would just save some downloads (depending of your usage).

We acknowledge this is not a great experience right now and are actively working on it. A full rework is needed at this point so it will take some months to reach stable and go in production, but I assure you it’s on our current focus right now.

Just wanted to share a simple trick in the meantime to clean only the smart cache, you can reduce the smart cache size to the minimum, use a bit the app / restart the app, and then set your smart cache size to the original value.

Best Regards,

Grégory
