Deezer Hi-Fi, Android 6.0.1. When Wi-Fi turned on, tracks caches and downloads in full size (FLAC), even when no one network connected (e. g. outdoor).

I noticed a huge traffic consumption, looked into the storage folder and realized, that all tracks are 30-40-50 MB. That was strange, because I listened music through mobile network with HQ quality chosen in audio settings.

Made some tests, downloading the same one file with different Wi-Fi conditions.

  1. Wi-Fi off. File is about 15 MB, that looks OK for the HQ quality. HQ icon on the cover.
  2. Wi-Fi on, wi-fi network connected. File is about 41 MB, that looks OK for the Hi-Fi quality. Hi-Fi icon on the cover.
  3. Wi-Fi on, wi-fi network disconnected, downloading through mobile internet. And - file is again about 41 MB! I see HQ icon on the track cover, instead of Hi-Fi, but the file size is the same as FLAC.

The only way not to loose too much traffic is turning Wi-Fi off, when I go outside. But it’s very unconvinient...

@Kevin Deezer, no, this were random tracks from Flow or other playlists. I mean, when I noticed a huge traffic consumption.

And then I experimented with one of my favourite tracks, added to my own separate playlist, so I can download it. Before every download I cleaned cache in the app settings completely. Then I was downloading the file and checking it’s size.

Whatever it was, now everything suddenly works fine… I checked this issue again today - and that’s so. I don’t know, why)) I updated app from 6.2.5.70 to 6.2.6.83, cleaned cache again, changed a place where it stores (SD card) to internal memory and back to the SD card. And now it works normally, tracks caches in HQ through mobile network, even when “Wi-Fi” setting is On.

Thanks for coming back to us about this @Darin. I believe the process you followed and described above helped. Glad it's sorted now.

Keep us posted if you notice any abnormalities :v_tone2:

Hello @Darin, are those tracks part of your favourite list, and are they supposed to be downloaded already? If so, how many tracks do you have in your favourites?
