I've completely lost faith in this issue ever being fixed.

Once my subscription ends in October I will have to seriously consider whether I'm carrying on with Deezer as the app is just too buggy

Hi again, I understand that this is frustrating, but we weren't able to reproduce the issue on our side. Have you tried the general Motorola troubleshooting?

https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Motorola-Owner-s-Blog/The-DIY-Movement-why-not-for-your-phone/ba-p/3375991

Otherwise if it's only Deezer that shuts down it might be the app that was downloaded and is faulty. Would you mind reseting your Sd card (if you're using one), delete Deezer again (completely) and restart the phone. Afterwards download Deezer again.

We've already done app deletes, reinstalls and the issue remains.

It's happened on 4 separate devices, so isn't a device issue.

It's also reported in the beta thread, and in several comments in the Google play store so again this isn't an issue unique to me.

Run the app on any android device for a week in the real world, use Google pay for Contactless payments and connect to a Bluetooth car kit and run flow.

It happens so consistently, I'll be amazed if you haven't seen the issue at least once after a week.

It happens to me several times a day!

Does it close when you open another app with music, like a game?

No, just Deezer.

I don't have any other apps which close themselves at all.

Still no fix in sight for this issue, which is disappointing.

I really can't put up with this as a premium user much longer

Hi again, as much as I'd love to help you, but we need more cases like yours to be able to find the root cause. You can see that it's only been the two of you reporting this, so it's most like a problem with your phone and not the account. We tested it on several devices and didn't have any issues. So it can't be a general problem with the app either.

I can only advise you again to update everything, remove Deezer, restart the phone, release some storage on your phone and reinstall Deezer.

There ar quite a few posts here, the beta thread and in Google play store reviews for the app, so this isn't me or my device.

I've even managed to regularly recreate the issue and have documented here - https://en.deezercommunity.com/troubleshooting-and-tips-4/deezer-app-random-closing-itself-7217/index1.html#post48528
I have the same problem. App randomly closes in background. Currently I have S9 with last updates and the last version of Deezer. But I have the same problem with previous phones (Nexus 5x, Xiaomi Mi, ...) I think that Android system closes the app for some reason. That's happen only when the music is stopped, never during the playback.

Hi there @Sinisa

I've researched about this the other day and found that there might be a way to avoid that by changing your phone settings.
I believe that you need to check the memory settings under phone maintenance/phone care.
Yes @Rudi I assumed the same thing, but I don't know what settings to change. It is probably some Android feature where system closes the app which is in background, when I open some other "memory hungry" app. On the other side I didn't find the similar problem with Spotify or Google play.
And again, I have the same problem for the last two or three years that I use Deezer. So the problem is the same on the different phones and different versions of app.
It is a big hassle, when I sit in the car and I have to take the phone to start the app.

@Sinisa

I agree it can be a hassle - I've done a bit of digging online and perhaps you can change the settings here: settings > advanced settings > battery manager > settings (on top right icon) > close excessively power intensive apps setting to OFF.
Some people also said that clearing the cache could help but I think in your case it could be a setting.
