Android bug - stuck showing penultimate track of album (Chromecast)

Hi

I have the following repetitive bug on my Pixel 2XL, Android 10. Current Deezer version is 6.2.0.105 but it’s been happening consistently since I joined Deezer a couple of months ago.

  1. Select whole album to play
  2. Cast to Chromecast
  3. Wait (phone goes to sleep)
  4. When the album finished, Deezer starts playing other tracks by the same artist (although this is weird and not what I want, this is not the bug)
  5. Wake up my phone ->
    Deezer shows the penultimate track of the album as the current playing track. But this is not correct. The current track is something else which has started playing since the album finished. Even when a new track starts, Deezer continues to show the same incorrect track. And when I select any other track in the playlist, it starts playing but Deezer still incorrectly shows the penultimate track as the current playing track. The only way I can fix the problem is to select another album or playlist.

Please let me know if you can replicate this issue and when it will be fixed.

Bump. This happens every time I play an album. It's repeatable without fail. I'm surprised if no-one else has had the same issue...?

Hello @Jim Barton, indeed I haven’t heard about this issue before… Would you mind trying this troubleshooting? Follow carefully the steps, it’s a way of cleaning the temporary data on Android phones that accumulate a lot of errors over time. As @Rudi said, we’ll still mention that to our teams.

Sorry for my late reply.

I carried out the steps to clean temporary data but the problem persists. I believe that if you try the sequence above yourself then you will find the problem. I can’t say for sure that it happens EVERY SINGLE time but it appears that way to me.

I have a short video of the problem if you are able to provide me with a suitable place to upload or send it.

But please can  someone at Deezer try this themselves? If you follow the instructions above then you will see it for yourself. I sent clear instructions to enable you to check it.

You're absolutely right. Thank you for all the detailed feedback and for your patience. Our devs have the required tool to test it according to your instructions.

I don't believe that's the same problem because the integration itself is new. But it could be related. In any case, I've forwarded it on for investigation in the shape of a bug report :v_tone2:
