when playing the song ends and plays the next one .but when it gets past 8 songs in a row it will just stop at the start of the next song? need to press play twice to continue. I have cleared cache.adjusted storage .changed to load from sd card. uninstalled and re installed. still continues to pause. not good for a hands free system.

not to happy with it at the moment. considering going back to prime.

posted this earlier, this has fixed my issue of songs coming to an end and stopping .no next track unless you press play again.

so please follow next steps

go into settings then down to deezer labs and switch the cross fader up to 3 secs or 4.5 secs gives a nice mix feel and so far stopped the pauses. let me know if this helps

Hey @opalomo

Thanks for reaching out, sorry for the experience. The topic is relatively old but we haven't had reports of this issue following our app and AA improvements.

Could you try the following steps, exactly in this order, to see if it helps with your issue?

  • make sure you're connected to a wifi network
  • uninstall Deezer
  • clean your phone's cache
  • remove the SD card (if applicable)
  • turn off your phone
  • reinstall Deezer
  • open Deezer and download at least one album or playlist
  • reinsert the SD card (if applicable)

Let us know how it goes :thumbsup_tone2:

Yes it is still a problem, none of the updates have fixed it. The solution you provided helps temporarily but eventually problem returns. I have applied the fade of 4s between tracks, that have improved playback if you don't skip. If you skip to many times the app either stop playing (then you have to press play multiple times) or even crashes with header error

Hi there

i hate to be such a thorn in your side but im currently running that version and its still doing it.

thanks for the effort but its still not working correctly.

@Rudi , this issue has been constant for YEARS now, and you've been notified on this thread for well over a year. Could you please outline what Deezer has actually been doing to fix this DANGEROUS bug during all this time? Do you think it's acceptable for drivers to become distracted by your app's bug and have to spend time fiddling with your apps controls to resume their playlists when they should be keeping their eyes on the road? You have had multiple reports from multiple users and by your own reply yesterday Deezer still hasn't deemed it worthy of any attention in over a year??? In my case the bug has persisted over multiple handsets, multiple Android versions, multiple Deezer versions, and multiple Android Auto versions so your standard scripted "troubleshooting" is totally moot (not that it ever worked anyway...). And lately you have a new "exoPlayer Failed" error to contend with as well...

It amazes me.how hostile Deezer has become lately towards Premium subscribers, treating us like free users with constant, irritating pop-ups and app controls-obscuring banners, with little or no effective customer support or interest when we report UX bugs and failures.  So, please consider carefully your response to me, @Rudi , as I'm at the absolute end of my tether with Deezer over your AA bugs and will have plenty of time over Xmas to cancel my Deezer subscription, convert my free Spotify account to paid, and recreate my playlists there - all of which will take FAR less time than following your 8-step torture routine. In fact, I urge all other Deezer subscribers reading or affected by thread to do the same regardless as there are no thanks or rewards from this  organisation for your loyalty.

Hey @testarossa

I'm really sorry to hear about your experience. I'll be forwarding your words directly to the teams responsible for this.

I wish I could provide you with an immediate solution but I can tell you that Deezer is really focused on getting bugs fixed in 2021, in order to make our service more reliable and safe for you. We're aware of our shortcomings and we can't afford to lose loyal users like you. If you choose to move part ways with us, I can completely understand but I can assure you things will get better. Stay tuned to the community and keep up with our improvements. I'd be happy to keep in touch via PM, as well.

I'd say the same to you @Blackegg13, having your feedback is essential for us to move forward as a streaming service.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us :pray_tone2:

I really hope so. After google’s another stupid move to remove google play music service ( and replace it with absolute garbage that is youtube music ), I tried spotify but didn’t like it and was impressed with deezer. Hence why I have decided to subscribe my family to it. Unfortunately as I mentioned in my previous post, for me this service is mostly for in car music ( I can’t stand radio ) and current state of the AA implementation is just not good enough.

I will give it another chance, but only if there will be some signs of actual attempts in addressing AA issues. If your dev team needs any live testing or getting logs, I’m happy to help. Just let me know how it can be done.

I'm now following you so that we can keep in touch for that, in 2021 @Blackegg13 what you said makes complete sense.

Our devs haven't asked for it, but I'm thinking of setting up specific groups of users to provide direct and specific feedback :thumbsup_tone2:

Hi @Rudi ,

Thanks for your response and indication that these issues are being debugged.

I would like to concur with everything that @Blackegg13 has said (except regarding Google/YouTube Music which I do not use) and in particular about sharing diagnostic data - In fact your developers should be able to request access to my Android Auto in-app diagnostic report from your contacts there submitted under my Gmail user name around the 15/16th last, directly after a 20 minute car journey punctuated by numerous playlist stoppages in between tracks and eventually terminated by an "exoPlayer Failed" error that I had experienced a number of times in the previous few weeks and that I cannot resolve without minimally disconnecting/reconnecting the handset - sometimes clearing AA/Deezer cache, and even also restarting car & phone - hence my "angry" post above... Since then I have continued to experience the usual playback stoppages again but not the exoPlayer error. Yet.

This latest error is the most disruptive to date and why I cannot promise to remain with Deezer if it happens again - it just renders the service unusable to me.. Spotify's First 3 Months Free offer expires on the 31st next and I honestly feel I deserve a financial break...

Deezer keep on disappointing paying customers... On and on and on... Especially regarding Apple CarPlay and Android Auto…

I've been a premium user since forever, but I've tried 30 days trial of Spotify and I have to say, it's far superior, connectivity wise especially…

I used the tunemymusic.com to transfer all playlists and I must say, now I understand why Spotify has so much more user.

But I'm used to Deezer, and I prefer to stay because it's a family plan. So do you have any solutions for this problem? It's has been more than a year....

So this has been going on for 9 months without a fix?  Pretty clear Deezer doesn’t care much for those of us that try to use it on Android Auto.  Guess we need to adopt the same attitude and switch to Spotify.

This is a really dumb way to lose customers.

Hi @briandullea @Sebastian.W sorry to hear that you are still having problems. We are working on more issues regarding using Deezer in cars. Our developers are aware of the issues and for now we can only ask for some patience. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi,

I've been a paying user for a number of years now & never had this issue until the last few days.

I try & listen to my playlists, be it on my phone, via Bluetooth or connected to my car & the songs pause randomly, sometimes for 1-2 seconds & sometimes for 5 or more seconds.

I've tried re-starting my phone, I've uninstalled & reinstalled my Deezer app but no luck. I have a Samsung Galaxy s9 plus.

I'm not very impressed seems I pay $17.99/nth & now I'm paying for music I cant listen to. 😣

The work around for the issue listed in this topic is simply hitting play twice, or do a song skip back and then forward again. So it’s not like you can’t listen to your music. You are just slightly inconvenienced in doing so.

Unless you are having a completely different issue? If so you should start a new thread.

I am also hoping they fix this one of these days. But it’s been quite a while so I am guessing they can’t figure it out.

I just got Deezer and I'm having the same issue!!

This is very frustrating/dangerous to deal with while driving.

@Rudi I listen Deezer on the Skoda Octavia A7 (phone: Sony Xperia XA2). But sometimes when next song should be played, it paused. I need to press play several times to start song. I'm tried to change sound quality, it was not helped. Looks like next song was not cached.
It reproduced through Android Auto and Bluetooth.
I try to use Spotify, it works fine. But Spotify sucks))

try connecting with usb cable.plug into media port . download the beta version (play store) then go to settings , deezer labs, crossover and select 3 seconds. spotify are only considered better because of the amount of users worldwide not for the actual content.

I've had exactly the same issue for months. Originally I thought it was because I was using a Nokia with Android 9 so upgraded to a Samsung S10. Thatlnk goodness I'm not the only one being driven nuts by some badly coded software. It IS clearly an issue with the deezer app because like everyone else; deezer is the only app that keeps sitting down randomly, seemingly dependant on the flight path of a nearby butterfly disturbing the dolphins. This may be sarcasm but after reading the responses from deezer on here it is more useful. And to add one more issue, who has noticed that the track times don't always sync up right. I even tried the new AA interface, which is a major improvement on a shockingly basic one, but this made no difference whatsoever.

Come on guys at deezer and start earning your salary that is users are paying. Please sort it or I can easily see you losing a lot of paying subscribers, and that will annoy the shareholders!

Im having a very similar issues to all of the above issues. Basically i play a playlist and after some songs it suddenly doesn’t load the next song. Just keeps saying loading…

ive tried your steps numerous times and nothing changes. I have a very good network connection.

Hi there @Lou Mather-Tait

Sorry that's happening. Could you try the following steps, exactly in this order, to see if it helps with your issue?

it seems that this is a very common problem on android devices and i am quite frankly disgusted that you have not fixed this issue as this has been reported numerous times and every time you guys seem to reply with the same crappy generic excuse highlighting steps to fix the problem.

I used to have spotify before and i switched to deezer because you have a way better selection of music , however im starting to doubt weather that was a good move.

PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE! Get on your devs cases and insist that they fix this ASAP, otherwise you are going to start loosing subscribers. I don’t want your generic excuse , i want a fix. The problem lies with your Android App.

I use my deezer subscription as 90% travel music, so for me those bugs are pretty much deal breakers. I'm considering going back to youtube music (as tragic as it is) as at least it worked on android auto without a problem. I'm enrolled into beta version and all the updates that recently happened adders 0 of current AA problems. This is mighty frustrating and like @testarossa mentioned it does distract you from driving.

I am expiriencing the sam issue with stopping the songs. Sometimes it is after 8 songs, sometimes it is after 3 or less. Randomly.

It happens on both of our vehicles. It happens with 3 different android devices, using 2 different accounts. It is all the same in our Mercedes, in our Jeep and even im aftermarket Pioneer HeadUnit (some of the latest models), tested in a friends car.

Devices are Huawei P20 Pro, Huawei P30 Pro and Xiaomi (not sure the exact model).

All devices are using the latest updates on OS and applications ONLY from GooglePlay Store.

If an Apple Device is used the issues doesn't persist.

I assume that we will back to Spotify if the issue is so old and still not resolved...

Im having the same issue that has been reported numerous times before with no proper solution.

Please help

Thanks for letting us know @ZDimitrov

Could you please confirm in which part of the app the stops are more frequent? Is it when playing Flow, favourites, etc?

We're currently working on improving our Android app, for better reliability. Please bear with us!

It is not related to flow or favorites or playlists... It happens all the time.
