Android Auto support page? (on screen symbols)

Is there a guide to what the star and round circle symbols do in android auto?

I thought Star would like the artist, and the round symbol I can't figure out what it's actually doing.

Thanks.

Hello the star is used to launch an artist radio from the current track and the circle is used to launch an album from the current track 😉

Hey there! Hm... can you send a picture of the symbols you're describing?

Or is there anyone who's using Android Auto as well and knows the answer to @NX1977 s question?

It's the star and round symbol to the right of it.

I see someone in the beta group has also asked what these are for?

Hi, I’m still trying to figure this out myself.  I’m seeing inconsistency with what buttons are displayed on this screen.  Sometimes I can see {crossed heart / star / target} like pictured above (picture 1 below), and sometimes I see {shuffle / heart / star} (picture 2 below).  I understand this second group is typically only shown for “playlists” and “inspired flow”, but I find that sometimes this second group is shown even if I select “start flow” from the main screen when just starting the app.

My problem is, if this happens during a normal “flow”, how can I “dislike” or “exclude” tracks I do not want recommended?

picture 1 - “flow”
picture 2 - also “flow”

Hi there @zykr-vak

Thanks for reporting it and for the screenshots. Have you tried tapping on the 3 dots on the side when you don't see the heart? You should be able to mark a song as a favourite with no problems :thumbsup_tone2:

Hi @Rudi ,

I agree with the TS, it would be a great idea if there was some explanation about the different icons and what they do. For me it’s not intuitive either.

You're right @Michel856982, our support page article here needs to be updated - we know that. But because we're developing a new car integration for Android Auto, we're waiting to have more up-to-date info at the same time. Thanks for the feedback :thumbsup_tone2:

Hi @Rudi thanks for your reply, I was hoping to see some more information on the support page but I have no idea how far away that is?  My screenshots were AFTER the 3 dots have been pressed, hence the 3 dots are highlighted in both images.

I have no problems marking songs as favourite, but as I said above,

My problem is, if this happens during a normal “flow”, how can I “dislike” or “exclude” tracks I do not want recommended?

Hi there @zykr-vak

Thanks for coming back. Apologies if I've misunderstood you.

The feature to actually 'Don't recommend this track' is only available on Flow, you're right. But I've contacted our devs for further clarification on this :thumbsup_tone2:

Hi @Rudi,

is there any more info on what to roughly expect with the new Android Auto integration and an estimated timeline?

For me the current implementation mostly lacks a list view when playing (play)lists. To see what songs are coming up instead just the currently playing song. Or did I miss that option somehow?

Hey @ongakufi

I've chased our product teams for more info on this - we haven't any updates on this specific feature for a while. We'll let you know once there's something.

And no, a list would be very useful, yes - but the integration is based on the content you have in the app - a note for improvement, thank you
